Welcome to the forum mate.
You'll probably have a slightly 'muted' reply to this topic as LOTS of owners have had these spoilers nicked off thier cars. That's not to imply that yours is, but chances are that unless it's been bought from Ford (unpainted) then it's somebody elses.
In answer to your question, it should be able to atatch to the roof with a suitable bonding resin.

well the bolts which you mention are what go in to the pre-made holes in the st.
Take the bolts off and bond it as Jon has said.
Otherwise you'll be drilling holes and it'll possibly get pulled off from your car if it is fitted like that. The bolts are not very secure in the spoiler.

Wire it up to the battery and attach flamethrowers

bonding it on mate
I have heard of people using Silkoflex or something, but apparently it is tat good that if someone is persistent it could damage your car. I suppose it's a matter of choice really.

Don't know how effective it is, but I have alphadotted everything since mine got stolen. Point being if the police recover stolen parts they can trace it to an actual car and make a conviction - plus return the part to you!

heard alot about spoilers and bits getting nicked where can you get theese alpha dots from and sureley the people will see them when they are posting the pics up on ebay!:p and then just scratch them off!

should start a section up (im sure its been discussed a thousand times before but mite be good to have one place where people can say if they have seen any suspicious spoilers or bumped off bumpers)

what sort of security do people use apart from the obvious baseball bat (not that i condone it) is cctv an idea or is there a cheaper option??!

try http://www.alpha-dot.co.uk/

I use that, they could scrape them off but u can mark the parts in several discrete places, and it's hard to get them off, will damage the part. I also have cctv since the spoiler got pinched. considering a pager for when it's parked up away from the house
