passenger seat problem when i lift the handle latch to tilt the seat the pulley is not moving on the left side but is on the right side of the seat. does anyone know what i can do to either fix the problem or what i need to get to replace it with

drivers seat problem

on the drivers seat the latch that tilts the seat forward snapped out yesterday morning i temporally got it back in and it works foe now but its not right as its squeaky and stiff ( no jokes lol )

if it goes again and freezes up i wont be able to have any passengers unless they climb in but this is a risk that im not willing to take and i want to sort the problem before it arises... will i need a new latch and if so what they called.

cheers in advance and sorry if the pics are small...

1. don't know, looks like the cable has just popped off the pulley, that cable also rubs the seat and marks it.

2. the latch and pivots are way too flimsy to lift a very heavy seat, your lucky not snapped it. Use two hands in future one to hold the pivot area firm and the other to lift the latch. Also, shove the seat fully forward, tilt it, get a file and take some metal off the hook and bar at the bottom, both sides, this will free it a lot more and grease it too. Bit at a time and test as you go.

broken latch is really common- mine broke in fact
Go to ford and ask for a new one they are a bit of a pain to replace though (and cost about £20)- managed mine with a lot of swearing and a few cuts on my hands

it's the biggest fault. Mine latch came off in my hands, when you see the teeny weeny plastic holes that the teeny weeny pivot hinge sits in top and bottom...............the hinge just pulls straight through the side of the plastic holes, a gust of wind could blow it off.

The latch and cable mechanism is not sufficently powerful enough to pull the massive clamps off the seat bottom hinges, hence the need to file them down so they unlock easier.
