Unfortunatley she didn't pass... It was by no mistake of her own. She was at a roundabout waiting to go and the road cleared so she was starting off and a boy racer from behind overtook her, cut her up and then carried on.
Her instructor in the back of the car argued with the examiner but it was no good... they have to fail so many per day and unfortunatley the boy racer ruined the changes for Sarah to pass.
I don't understand why people can't just be patient and wait... what an idiot!!!
It's not all bad though... i'm sure you lot can help her out and tell us all how many times it took you to pass and the reasons why!!!
Sorry to hear about this, it's just one of these things though. Everything else went fine so don't dwell on it too much Sarah and I'm sure you'll be fine next time around.
With regards to mine a long time ago, my first attempt saw me fail on a couple of things, going a little too wide when reversing round a corner, and also for getting three minors for hesitating at junctions, which then made it a major. What had ultimately got to me was that within a couple of minutes of setting off I noticed out the corner of eye that I was being marked down for something (as it turned out a minor on something), but this then put on complete edge and made me start to panic inside a little, which probably contributed to me hestitating.
For my next go, which I succeeded in, I just tried to relax and tried to think that if I passed great if I didn't then I didn't. Thankfully everything went fine that time.

my nan had a full licence, including motorbikes and HGVs and she diodn't even do a test!
Not quite the same, but I have got a story up there with that. The first job of one of my dad's friends was as a postman, and at that time (about 40 years ago), there was some bizaare rule that allowwed members of the postal service to be given a licence by an examiner from the Post Office. As a result, when the examiner travelled up, he was in a hurry to get away again as it was late afternoon, and he was asked simply to drive from the sorting office to the train station. For anyone that knows Whitehaven, this means that his "test" consisted of turning right out a junction, going down a few streets for about a mile without coming to another junction, and then branching left into the station. And that was that, he got his car and van licence, crazy.
