Speaking of which....

saw an absolute swamp donkey of a custom car at the weekend.

Picture this....

Dark Blue 5 door Rover 216 old shape pointy nose 'wood' veneer dash jobby.

Now that's bad enough but the owner had an unhealthy liking for chrome.

Chrome 5 spoke low profile wheels were a given but the tops of the wheel arches had chrome plates too. But that's not where the horror ended.

The bottom edge of the metalwork along the sides of the car were chromed (bottom edge of the door and sill and the rest of the wheel arch). Along the side there was a chrome rubbing strip and a thin chrome line about half way up the doors. The door handles were chrome. The side repeaters had chrome surrounds. The mirrors were chrome. All of the windows, front, side and back had chrome edgings. The main grill and the ones in the bottom of the bumper had chrome edges. The light clusters had chrome lines around EACH light. The sunroof 'hole' was chromed. The wipers front and back were chrome and last but not least, the radio aerial.

That's what I call a negative equity car :-)
