I'm not planning on any more power mods, so I'm after a remap and looking for some confirmation/advice etc, before I spend my money. grin

Seen loads of remap places from googling, but hard to tell which ones are good and which are people charging a lot of money to plug in some settings. Had a crap experience a few years ago where they tried to do a remap but the car started running on 2 cylinders every time they changed any settings. Fortunately gave a full refund, and might have been a good thing now as I had more mods since. Perhaps my car was the issue not them, but I want to avoid having that again.

Seems to be different methods/quality or remapping, basically:
1) generic altered settings to give some improvements
2) more specific adjustments to settings, accounting for your particular car and modifications
3) adjust while on a dyno to see how the car performs across the full rev range and they can fine-tune the settings and identify flat spots in the range and so on.

At the moment I'm thinking a few hours drive to get a really good job done is better than choosing the nearest place. I live in the north west, so ideally want somewhere around here but I will travel (good excuse for a drive anyway).

Nearest I have found are these: http://www.optimumtuning.co.uk (not sure what they charge) Fall into the first or second category as described above. I like the sound of these http://www.wilkinsonsvehiclesolutions.co.uk (£230 ish) they use a dyno, but they're a few hours away on the Yorkshire coast. I think they specialize in cars like st s but I haven't contacted them yet.

What do you lot think, or how did you have yours done?
And if anyone can recommend a place, could you let me know. Cheers happy
