Just bought one of the cheaper version, as a kit with some pads and menzerna polish for just over £100

I know the pad and polish combo for the hardness of paint is quite important, I did once read menzerna polish is good for a medium hardness paint like fords have, but they recommended different pads so I might have to get some softer ones.

...I'll experiment on the bonnet first, as it needs a respray anyway so won't matter if I ruin it
