It's a nice car mate.

The thing is, will you ever invest in a car?

You've not passed your test yet, shouldn't you be thinking about doing that first?

Car looks nice, however I wouldnt go getting an 8 k car as a first one.

Get a banger drive it for 6 months to a year, the chances are you will have a crash whether it be small or large within the first year of driving...

last thing you want to do is spend 3.5k on a kit and then scuff it or crack it.

Dont rush things you have years and years ahead of you yet take your time ;-).

I'm gonna backup what others say. I dont underdtand why new drivers are so desperate to get a really expensive car first time round. Insurance is a killer! As Ste said, get a cheaper car and run it for a year. Get some NCP and then things start to get more managable. Also I really don't see the point in those Fiesta Wolfs. 1.25 with a body kit and an exhaust. Boy racers buy them because they think they will look the business and mince everything out there. They make lots of noise but are as flat as a cupboard bought from IKEA. Just my 2 cents though.

I wouldn't go too mad on saying people shouldn't have new cars when they start driving... it is after all their own choice...

When I passed my test I had this (1.6L):

I changed to this whilst I was 17 (1.8L):

I obviously specced it up with 18" Alloys, Exhaust and GPS etc etc but that was my own choice... Yes I was a Boy Racer but surely thats someone's choice?

I do think that passing your test before you get a car is a good thing to do though... but it's his choice.

With regards to the lessons you have booked... I know quite a few people who have done intense courses and spent 100's of pounds over a 2 week period and ended up failing their test and having to take more, plus another test.

I think 1 or 2 lessons a week over a couple of months is better as it sinks in and you become a better driver and get more relaxed.

I wish you all the best on your driving lessons and really hope that you pass straight off

Theres my little bit

I would personally suggest the other way around...

Have 1 a week for 2 weeks... then 2 for 2 weeks then 3 or 4 building up to your test. I suggest you book your test now if you want to have it in the next 3 months.

I was ready for my test after 8 weeks (having 1 lesson a week) and had to wait 3 months for my test... it was good as I got my driving perfect for the test.

Note: No one is a perfect driver... to pass your driving test is only like passing an exam at School... you never know EVERYTHING, you only can try and do the thinks you are told as best you possibly can!!!

At the end of the day I suggest you go with a car you are happy with.

A bigger engine = more insurance and probably even more importantly, more speed.

When you first pass... after a few weeks you suddenly become VERY COCKY and think you know it all... Race around... and then... something will shock you into driving a little more sensible and taking more care!!!

I drive quickly but i've been driving 4 1/2 years now and know my car inside out... I judge road conditions and always keep 10% behind the max line, to make sure I don't cross that line and end up in a hedge.

1.25 is good... it looks nice with the body kit... I would personally get it and enjoy it... you don't need to rag it about to prove a point, there is no point to prove, it's not a sports car!

I wouldn't worry how new the car is personally. If I could have afforded it I probably would have got one. The insurance is usually lower on the newer cars also, as they have better safety features.

A 1.25 is a sensible engine size too.
However, I wouldn't be so bothered about the kit if I had a new car. It will bump up your insurance a fair bit and it is going to cost you a few quid if for example you hit one of the modified parts against a wall or something! You probably won't want to make a claim for that.

In your situation I would probably go for a newish Fiesta, 1.25 without a kit, Get a years no claims discount and then reconsider your options. With a years driving experience under your belt and 1 years ncd, you could perhaps upgrade to a zetec s, that is if you still want a Fiesta.

If you spend all your cash now on a kitted Fiesta, it might not be the best choice.

If you were to chop that exact car into a dealer to get a new one you would be lucky to get £5000 for it spoiler or no spoiler.
The person who paid through the nose to fit them in the fist place takes the knock for that, when it's used it becomes a 1.25 Zetec the same as all the others.
Would it realisticaly cost £2500 to fit that lot yourself??

A new standard 1.25 Zetec climate wouldn't cost you much more, then just pay £250 for the optional 16" alloys.
No mods to declare to increase your insurance premium either!!

Don't waste your money, the car's over priced

I was so cocky when I passed my test...I was not having green L's. I wish I had have done at least other road users are a bit more patient with you.

I passed in March this year and I've learnt so much since!
