Is this possible as I am looking at getting a second car, something for A-B motoring?

I was looking at maybe a Mondeo 2.0 or 2.5 v6 as I had a 2.0 Mondeo once and I really liked it.

It needs to be reasonably quick, no more than group 15 insurance and no less than 30mpg.

Diesel is fine to.

think the 2.0L version is probably the best alternative compared to the V6! as it drink less petrol and is still fast and are very easy to find and can find plenty with high mileage which should mean good reability!

yeah mondeos go cheap, can easily get a good one for £1500.

Years ago I got a 6 year old TD for £1200, ran absolutely fine, no problems.

not convinced you'd get the new tdci's in this price range so the td may be a little slow.

as babyboom said the 2l mondeos are quick enough and probably get about the same mpg as the ST, maybe a little better if you're lucky

i had a 2L GLX it was fairly quick and no worse on the fuel
