OK then.

As some of you will know, I've had alot of problems with my STs so I've decided to get rid of mine.
The warning light has come on mine again plus when I start up I get "engine systen fault" in the display.

I've been for a test drive today in a 1.6 TDCi.

It's obviously not as powerful as the ST but it's certainly more drivable round town. It has a bit more torque than the ST but alot lower down the rev range, which is what I prefer.

Also the fuel economy will help me as I'm currently putting in £35-40 per week depending on how many days I go to work.
On the shot trip from cold that we did, we were doing 48MPG!! (I reset the computer when I pulled off)

The ride was alot better than the ST (which is the one main thing I hate)

The insurance is going to cost me £100 less (£309 ilo £406) and the road tax is a staggering £35 per year.

I am going for the Zetec Climate 3 door as it has better equiptment levels than the ZS plus the softer ride.
Technology Pack and Sports Pack are free.

I'm having a Silver or Black one (not bothered which one he get's)

Good luck to all you ST owners and I hope you have many happy years with them.
I know some of you love yours, I have hated the two I've had.

Dave

It should be the end of October towards the middle of November as I have to wait for my Priviledge Voucher to re-set.
I can order the car now as it has to be ordered before the 30th September to get the 6.9 APR and the free technology and sport packs but I don't have to register it until the 31/12/07

I'm tempted to have bluetooth as well this time but not if it pushes my monthly payments up.

Can understand why you're annoyed with it after all these problems, and 48mpg would be great to have - like you I put in £40 a week for travelling to work and back each week.

Let us know how the changeover goes!!

I'm surprised the Zetec Climate has a better spec than the Zetec S.

Hmmm, If I were putting that much fuel in a week without being able to claim it back, I reckon I might do the same...

Presently put about £50 a month in for going to work...
