Average mpg can vary from about 25mpg (if you driving with a heavy foot) up to 35/40 if you're careful. It can be a big fuel consumption, just depends on the driver and miles you put in a day. As for the ST vs the VTS, if you are on about a saxo or C2 vts, then the st is faster than both. Top gear raced the C2 VTS against the ST round their track and the ST won with better points and my mate has a standard saxo VTS and i beat her everytime anymore questions?

I have test driven a Colt CZT (the 1.5 turbo) on 2 occasions in fact, it was a nice enough car, looked good if you looked at if from the front but i think it has nothing on the ST except the 0-60 being 0.8 secs quicker from the book figures.
If you check youtube they tried the CZT and the ST against one another and the ST beat that too in a race on the track.
Depends what you want really, if you are concerned regarding the price difference, is it worth holding out for an ST?
I also get approx 29 mpg's thats with 1000 on the clock on a 57 plate and i travel about a 16 mile round trip, half motorway, half normal roads.

cheers for the info lads.
Sounds good.
But what about adding a superchip? will i gane more mpg? also any perfomance gain worth noting?
It depends what your after from your ST, its common knowledge that if you want to make your car go faster, you have to pay the price because the quicker it goes, the bigger the fuel consumption.
Basically, if you want a higher average mpg to save money, there is a chip you can buy called Ecotek which saves you 10% on your petrol as it puts less fuel into your engine, but it does make it a little slower.
If you want your car to be quicker, then with a few upgrades like new filter, manifold, full exhaust system, etc, you will be using more fuel. Its entirely up to you.

I havent seen many black cars with white stripes as its not a personal favourite of mine which would make yours kind of unique in a way as there isnt many and as your a newcastle fan, why not The dreamscience chip, which is recommened if you want to chip your car, will not just add 10bhp straight off, you need it to be figured properly and other mods to produce that kind of power. I would not recommend having one unless you have 170/180bhp for the chip to work with as the engine is designed fine as it is with the standard ECU it comes with. As for ESP, i believe they charge extra for this, but i would say from experience its worth having. Its a safety feature which is designed to get you out of ackward situations when needed and they wouldn't be able to sell it if it didnt work so if you have extra cash to spend, get it and good luck

Npz mate, keep asking away. the reflex pack offers: Side thorax airbags, side air-curtain airbags and centre rear head restraint - this allows more safety to your car the power fold door mirrors are useful because everytime you turn your engine off (or there maybe a button) your mirrors close in, which means then less likely to be vandalised if your in a car park or parked on a road the bluetooth handsfree is a good device to have if you dont have one already. The person on the phone speaks through the speaker and your microphone is fixed someine in your car the privacy glass is 80% tint on your back 3 windows, not the fronts the interior styling pack: Colour co-ordinated mats and silver dashboard bezel - you can buy a good set of mats from teamtorquesteer with ST ingraved into the mat that are nice for the similar price but i would say only get this extra if your bored with too much money lol hope this helps, remember its more opinion over matter but good luck
