my friend has bought a fiesta a few weeks ago and it has developed a squeak which the garage can't seem to locate. It comes from the rear of the car around the area where the parcel shelf sits, but even the parcel shelf is removed the noise is there whenever a there's bump in the road. It seems to be coming from the plastic infills, but not sure, has anyone come across a similar problem?

Cheers guys, might try the carpet fix, if it was my car the volume would be up now, but I don't think my friend would appreciate what a great solution that is.

I had a squeak, I thought was coming from the parcel shelf. It turned out one of the exhaust mounts had come loose. The garage fixed it for me, they said it was a common problem with fiestas.

I can almost guarantee that this squeak you're having problems with is a loose handbrake cable. I had the same problem. I had Ford look at it, they put a replacement clip on it, but that must have vibrated loose as the squeak has returned as is very loud and very annoying when I'm driving!
I initially thought that the squeak was coming from the suspension under the rear wheel arch but then I found it was the handbrake.

It sure don't sound like a handbreak, but anything's worth a try, think it'll be a weekend job though as it's dark when finished work! Thanks for all the tips.

Hi All, my 1st post here.. Had mine about 2 weeks now, 07, performance blue, well happy with it, managed to rack up about 700 miles already :$ lol Mine did have a squeak coming from the rear, i managed to track it down to the seatbelt contraption, so i mananged to solve it my goin in the boot and finding where the actual seatbelt roll holder thingy is in a hole on the left side. so i managed to ram an old t shirt in there with it and problem solved. Probably not the best fix, but its stopped that squeak :P As u may of guessed from the above txt that im not too good with cars and parts :P fixed it tho lol

Well... The infamous squeak eh . Some people hear it at night some in the morning for the last month I have heard it every frickin time I am in the car. I thought this is it I am going to find it if its the last thing I do. Got myself locked and loaded with a can of WD45 and I set about it. Shaking the car side to side seemed to be the stem of the issue so I looked under the lumbar supported to find a MASSIVE rubber. I soaked this in WD45 and continued to soak anything rubber in my path. Got in the car took it a drive and haypresto it was fixed...........and then later that night it appeared again. I thought lets chance my luck and see what the crap dealer will do for me. Took it down yesterday and on my journey there the squeak was no where to be sign I was dreading the words " If we cant hear it we cant fix it " but I left it there and went back to pick the car up later on that night and was told " We have found the problem to be the brake cable clips .... but this is not covered as you have lowered your car bla de bla " Seasons greetings and all they waved the charge and no I am squeak Free.
Anyone who has this problem it sounds like it comes from the drivers rear arch ITS THE BRAKE CABLE CLIPS FOR SURE !!
Hope it helps guys.
B.
