I have BT at home in Coleshill and used to have it down South until it's just been changed to Orange BB.
I've never had anything wrong with BT... you have to wait until the line sorts itself out and the speed will increase.
If you are not getting the speed you should have then let them know and they will test your line and send an engineer out... they have always been very good for customer care and problem solving.
www.internetfrog.com - press test connection speed... this will give you a good idea on how quick your connection is in reality.
