this morning when i fired my up doing the school run a orange warning light came on its in the shape of a circle with bobbles round the circle with an exclamation mark(!)in the middle its just above the orange abs warning light in the center i also got the message that said "please refer to handbook" has anyone had this light come on and what does it mean,oh and by the way it went off when i pulled off the drive and it has not come back on since...i hope its not another trip to the dealer.

I think it may have just been a glitch... keep an eye on it and see how it goes... atleast you have posted it on the board so can keep a record of the date it happed if you do eventually have to take it in to the dealer... they will be able to locate the fault through the computer then.

Throttle body is on the way out.
When you put the ignition on pump your throttle pedal a few times and see if it happens again (engine off)
If it does get it booked in.

i ,ve just tried that and it,s not done it,infact it has been fine ever sinse it blipped yesterday morning,i shall keep an eye on it from now on,thanks anyway.

That's OK, it's probably just a blip.
That symbol indicates major failure BTW or overheat

on the facelift its the symbol just above the red airbag symbol but its in orange,fingers crossed its just a blip.

Well according to my handbook a circle with bobbles coming off it with an exclamation mark in the middle is "Automatic Transmission/Durashift EST" that's why I asked...

thats strange all i can say is it came on when i fired her up and stayed on for about 20 to 30 seconds then went off,but its not come back on since.

Its "transmission/engine systems fault". Sorry but it was actually bugging me today which is why I had to find out Yeh I had "EAC FAIL" on mine today.. perhaps she doesnt like the cold rainy weather we've got down here!!
