My dad said he watched a programme the other day, interviewing an F1 team, said if they were let lose to do what they wanted they reckoned they could kill someone with the gforces etc

I'm sure they could if they were just doing things wildly wihtout any of the safety stuff. If you look back years, it was just seen as an occupational hazard that drivers would die in F1. Thankfully that's not the case now and hopefully we won't see anyone lose their life in that way again.
