First of all im new to this just got my ST last wed so hi to everyone.

I have had a problem with the black splash guards under the front wheel arches where they join to the bumper at the bottom furthest corner. The shitty little bits of plastic which form the loop on the bumper for the plastic screw to hold splashguard on seems to have broken on both side thus the splashguards are rattling like hell when i drive. Has anyone else seen this. I have an 07 fiesta ST which i just bought a few days ago. Do you think that FORD would fix it for me?

Also the wee clip covering the hole for the front tow hook (the circle bit of plastic) dont seem to click in place and it wont be long till the damn thing falls out and i loose it. Any ideas on this.

There seems to be a lound revving sound from the engine when i put my foot down and accelerate sharply. Is this normal. The revs seem to go up slowly but is very noisy.

Can anyone give me some advice on things to watch out for when i own the car? Common wee things that go wrong.

Apart from that i love the car to bits. I think i got a real bargain on it. Full leather, parking sensors, heated seats, 6 disc multi, tinted windows, 2k miles on clock, all for £9500?!?!

First of all...welcome!

In terms of the splash guards - I've never had this problem so can't give you any tips here. I'm not sure this would be included under warranty.

As for the engine noise - Hmmm, I think that's just general revving noise. It is a performance engine after all, and it can rev quite loudly at around 3500rpm in third and fourth gear (the rev band in first and second is quite low, so make sure not to over-rev the car in those gears). Also, as the car has only done 2000 miles I wouldn't give it the beans just yet. While the car is over its initial breaking-in period, I'd still watch the high revs for a while. Mind you, don't drive it like Miss Daisy either as the car still needs to bed-in.

The single biggest continual problem with the ST (as far as I'm concerned) is the tracking of the wheels. Keep a close eye on the tyres (front in particular) because if the tracking is off you'll notice your tyres disappear very quickly indeed. My front wheels are currently toeing in by 1 as my last set of tyres (had brand new tyres put on the car today) were badly worn on the inside edge. I'm going to keep a close eye on them.

The ST is a great little car. Very fun to drive (most of all on B-roads) and constantly brings a smile to my face. Enjoy it!
