No error code, just says cd ejecting, then after a couple of minutes it just says wait. and then nothing happens at all. even radio wont play now, and can't see clock on it.

car is '06' plate, facelifed model. 6006cd player

Yeah best take it to ford , the only thing is they might get funny if you have CDR's in there.

I had that problem with CDR , But in the manual i've got it says it may not play them correctly.....It does not say DO NOT use them.

I don't know what it says in the manual for newer Fiesta's, but in the pre-facelift manual it says "Due to technical incompatibility, recordable(CD-R) and rewritable(CD-RW) discs may not function in Ford CD players" which is as you say. However, some people have found that Ford have used this as a get-out clause to charging people for repairing the stereo.

i have had this prob on my old 55 plate fiesta. i took it to ford and they fixed it with a new radio because it was still under warranty. if ya can ring a evans halshaw ford dealer, they seem to be nicer in helping people out.

I don't really understand... CD's are all a standard size... if the CD/R won't play, why doesn't it just eject it instead of going into this stupid mode and stopping all functions.

When my CD player in the Focus doesn't like a disc it simply says "Error" and goes onto radio and allows me to eject it...

That makes it sound even stranger then. The series of stereos that are in the mk1 Focus are the same ones that were in the mk5 Fiesta and I think the mk4 also, which would take us all the way back to 1996. So something designed that long ago can cope with not liking a cd, yet something more modern just crashes and dies if it has one it doesn't like?!

It's a normal cd that has jammed not a CDR.

Lol, plus, it is Eminem's CD, so if i take it to the garage, and it starts playing, they could be in for a shock, lol.

if you take the unit out and take it apart you could get the cd like that. give it a clean inside and back together.

how easy is the unit to take apart? not very good at doing things like that, lol. but i'll give it a try. I tried smacking the side of it very hard, but it made no difference, lol.

Its under warranty , best take it in to a dealership.

Not sure if your is the same as the preface lift, could try ...PRESS and HOLD the LOAD and EJECT buttons simultaneously. WAIT until the audio unit has checked through the CDs currently in the unit.

But i'd say best take it in.

Indeed. If it's a normal cd then they can have NO complaints about fixing it as it's covered under warranty and you haven't done anything against what it says in the book. If you start bashing it about to try and sort it out yourself, if it still doesn't work and you end up still having to take it in then they could start saying it's your own fault and charge you.

Hi, i've had this problem on mine too CD6 got jammed so took it in in September and they replaced it with a brand new unit, only for it to happen again 3 weeks ago so i'm now on my 3rd radio, im just hoping it doesn't get jammed again!

Each time its been done under warranty and takes about an hour for them replace it. So i'd say take it in.
