Hi, I'm very new to all of this so bare with me if this sounds a bit weird!!

Has anyone put there ST150 with side stripes through a car wash? Is it Ok to go ahead and do it??

I wouldn't use a carwash if I were you... but... for different reasons.

The problem with automatic car washes is that little fine fragments of grit off everyone's cars can get stuck on the whizzy cleaning things and end up putting nice fine scratches all over your car.

High presure jet washes are better, but only as long as you're careful to use them correctly. For example, don't be tempted to go too close to your car to blast a bit of dirt off, or you'll end up striping your stripes off as someone on here once found out.

Wash it by hand or with a Hi Pressure Hose else you will find lots of swirly scratch marks as Chris mentioned from the car washes.

I was blowing my tyres up the other day and a 4x4 totally covered in mud and bits queued up for it... So much for the car after!!!

I wouldn't trust one anywhere near my paintwork! The thought of the Car Cleaners in Tesco's Car Park getting anywhere near my car scares me as well!! Dirty gritty water on a rag, hmmmm I think not, same applies to the automatic washes.

A lambs wool mitt and thw two bucket method is the old thing mine gets

I let the immigrants at the local BP garage clean mine. always do a good job.

manually wash mine myself(and the wifes )every time elbow grease does wonders.
