Hi All,

We have not yet got any information on this but we WILL be attending the show as a club once again this year.

The location will be around the Northampton Area and was located just by Corby last year. The exact location and details will be released shortly.

I know people are getting itchy to get their names down for this so I thought i'd make a thread so people can post their names and a list can be compiled so the team can contact you when the tickets are being organised

Thanks a lot,

Scotty

Yes, they still haven't sent out any information to me, but I got that off the Fiesta Club GB website. Hopefully the weather will be better for everyone compared to last year!

No worries Dave about not being certain yet. As I've said, they haven't sent any information out yet, and the booking forms aren't yet on the FCGB website either - they seem to be a bit slower off the mark than last year by the looks of things. However, if it's anything like last year then we'll need to get our stand booked around a month beforehand, so the deadline I'll have to set will probably by mid-April - plenty of time left for you to sort things out.

Yup, you will display your car in the disignated area that we have... why would you not with to display your car? They are not going to be amazing showroom conditions pieces of art, the cars will be quite normal, every day used cars.

My car has huge chunks of paint missing all out the bonnet and dents and scratches but its still going to be parked there as I'm part of the site, just as you are.

With regards to the other question you have... you are free to leave any time you wish, there is no time limit like silverstone and ford fair where you cannot leave until a set time.

Heres a few pics to help you understand what it means by "club stand"

Appoligies for the dark images, it was very dark and rainy last year unfortunatley

Yes good point Kevin. Here it is:

We had a lot of fun putting it up at the RSOC Day in August last year where it somehow poured down even more than at FITP - until we'd just finished when it promptly faired up!!

No you're welcome to come and display your car on our stand even if you haven't got an ST or even a Fiesta for that matter. The only rule is that you have to have a Ford and that's the organisers rule not mine.

IF you look at the wing mirror picture, it is from my Mk 1.5 Focus Zetec, also it's at the back of the post with the flags and at the left of the picture with the tent. On the right hand side is a Fiesta Zetec S.

Any is welcome and you will be on the stand just as the rest of us and not hidden away as some clubs might want... I find variation interesting and it's nice to have something different... a whole stand of s is a little boring.

I look forwards to seeing you there petch and welcome to the site

Just a bit! Let's hope it's still in one piece after all this time, and hasn't expired after the soaking it got on it's last outing.

That was my idea damn you lol... I put the pegs there to bodge it

the pole isn't quite long enough... might need to bring some heavy duty duck tape to repair the odd bits if needed.

, Thinking back, yes it was Scotts idea, but it was Chris who had the repair 'pegs' at hand.

It was so funny puting the gazebo up in the rain making repairs as we went and getting absolutely soaked .

Sorry for getting peeps mixed up, but i was laughing that much because it was sooo much fun, and after we had finished the sun came out in all it's glory for the rest of the day.

Err, I wouldn't exactly say we the sun was shining all day kev, but you're right it did stop bucketting down as soon as we'd got it up and did stay dry for the rest of the day.

Thinking about it, it's maybe a curse of the first day of the summer event. Last year we obviously had it emptying down on the morning of the RSOC Day, just a couple of weeks after we'd been baked in sunshine at Ford Fair.

The year before we had the horendous day at Castle Combe for the Rally Day. First thing in the morninbg it had seemed as though it was going to quite nice, so we turned up in t-shits and shorts, and then the heavens promptly opened and we got drenched, even when trying to hide under some trees. It then dried up, we went back to the cars and got changed - and then a few hours later down came the rain again!! We tried to hide in a building site to shelter, until security came and threw us out. Oh, and poor Micky almost didn't get his car out of the muddy fields.

Finally, going way back now. Back in 2005 at the summer event in the Cotwolds, my first ever memory of a meet is arriving at the campsite and seeing this drowned rat in a Villa shirt coming over to say hello to me, helping to put the tent up, and then realising that we'd left the flysheet oustide in the rain to get soaked.

All three times though, we've had really nice weather afterwards though. I'm prepared to have it pouring down heading to Dover and possibly going through France if it means that we get baked in sunshine for the rest of the summer meet this year!

You can come, but you won't be able to have your car on our stand if you don't have a Ford. You'd need to either park outside in the carpark, or hitch a lift.

Yup yup, put your name down now.

I'm trying to find out information now as when we need to book our stand by, as the organisers do seem to be a bit slower off the mark than they have been in the past. As soon as I hear anything off them then I'll let everyone know.

Hey everyone

I've just heard back from the organisers of FITP now, and they've told me that their deadline for receiving stand applications in the 25th of April. If we don't get our application in by then, then we won't get a stand.

Therefore, I am setting a deadline for everyone of Saturday 12th of April for everyone to decide if they are coming and for payment to be arranged. This will enable me to sort everything out in plenty of time. After this date then I may still be able to get extra tickets, but I can no longer guarantee it.

Just to remind everyone payment is £6 per car - and that is irrespective of how many people you're bringing with you.

Thanks all
Chris

Is it too late to get a ticket ?

Am i correct in thinking you need one ticket for one car and it doesnt matter how many people you bring ?

No it's not too late at all. The deadline the 12th of April, and I'll PM everyone nearer to then to arrange payments.

You are correct that it's one ticket per car, no matter how many passengers.

Indeed you are correct Dan... I list the passangers down, simply to know the numbers that are coming. On the day, it can get quite confusing who is who if you don't have a basic idea of who is attending

It will be £10 and the payment will be required any time in the next couple of weeks... hardly going to break the bank

Thanks Bradders

It is a one day event yes, although we will be arriving there quite early - last year I think it was something like half past eight? With regards to meeting up, then we'll sort that out nearer the time. Last year a load of us stopped in the Birmingham area on the Saturday and then convoyed together. We then met up with everyone else who'd either stopped nearer the venue or had come on the day, and picked them up at a location on the way to Huntingdon. We'll be doing something similar this year, but we'll get that sorted nearer the time, once we know exactly who's coming and from where.

Doing it that way rather than all just turning up has a couple of advantages. Firstly we can dish out the tickets in person, rather than going through the hassle of posting them all out and risking them getting lost. Secondly, when you get something like this:

then I'm sure you'll agree how brilliant it looks.

Depends how much driving you want to do in one day.

I know Chris C will be staying in the area as he has to come from cumbria.

Last year at rockingham (different show) i went there and back in one day. Just over 400 mile round trip, and totaled about 8 hours driving

The tickets will cost £6 per car, irrespective of how many passengers you have. I am sorting out the tickets for the site, and will be ordering them in a couple of weeks time, so if you wish to attend then I'll add your name to the list.

It's nice displaying your own car as you have it in the show and you can go back to it and get food or drink when ever you fancy... Also it's a proud experience being part of a club and having your car on the stand with the flags flying.

You'll be fine... we will look after you!!!

It's being held at Hungtingdon Racecourse in Cambridgeshire on Sunday the 18th of May. Don't worry about not knowing anyone yet, you'll be made to feel welcome as everyone always is at our meets. Before I went to this sites first meet way way back in 2005 I didn't know anyone either, so we've all been in this position at some point so don't worry.

With regards to convoy and meeting arrangements, then this will be sorted out a bit nearer the time once I know exactly who is coming and from where.

Thats fine... if there is nobody coming from your direction in the morning (as most are staying over in b'ham area... and some even by the show) then there might well be another club you can convoy with until you meet us by the A14 when you pull off the M1 heading there... don't worry... it's all part of it

There will be meeting points along the way so don't worry... also we will meet at the first slip road at the side of the A14 from the M1.

I've paid for myself and my sister (pixar)'s cars to enter into the park

Dave... if you can get to know soonish then if you cannot we may be able to get your ticket refunded or simply sell it on to another member, either here... or another site.

I know it's only £6 but if you let me know either way when you are aware then it's all good

Hi
Not to late to put your name down. If you pm ChrisCumbria he will be able to give you details on how to pay.

Just to let people know the site has a cut off date of the 12th April. You may be able to get tickets after that date.

You won't from this site though... you'd need to outsource to other places.

Payment needs to be with us before your ticket can be ordered. Please decide if you haven't already posted up if you wish to come or not.

Thanks a lot,

Scotty

The cut off date is the 12th of this month and after that Chris is refusing to get any more tickets so it will be a case of getting your own... this is due to payments not being made previously and having to folk out our own money to cover this... so it is only fair.

There is many other car clubs that attend including:

This Site
Fiesta Club of Great Britain
STOC.com
RSOC - Lots of regions come along
FFOC.co.uk
STOwnersClub
ZSOC
etc etc

Then you have loads of trade stands including all the best known ones

It is a propper show...

I couldn't take a full picture last year due to it raining but heres a pic from when I attended with the FFOC.co.uk in 2004.

I hope this answers your question and shows that its not just a couple of cars parked in a field...

You could do but it just depends how much time other clubs would be willing to give you and they would be pretty cross if you wasn't on their stand if they did all the work and got you a ticket etc.

Also... it's not just a ticket you will need, it's a car pass for our stand. They dedicate specially sized areas depending on how many cars are on the stand... if you aren't shown to be with us, the stand will be a little smaller.

For the sake of the small amount the ticket costs, is it worth umming and arring? Just buy a ticket and then decide at a later time if you wish to attend or not. We don't make a penny from the tickets you can be assured of that.

We have got a few meeting points in mind for everyone, so don't worry about that it's all in hand. I'm assuming that you will be travelling up on the day, as I need to take that into account when deciding where to meet with everyone.

We do know somewhere fairly close to Huntingdon also so we will be able to meet up there with you if need be.
