Its £105 to transfer plate/put on retention. £80 transfer £25 admin!!! Joke IMO because ive paid this and still have to wait for a new number plate to be issued to my current car.

Ive got my plates had them for nearly 3 years, but i need a new number plate to be issued to the car im trading in and this is taking the time, which is stopping me from picking up the ST. My personal number plate is now on retention so i can swap it almost straight away once i get it showing on the V5 for the ST, if that makes sense. I cant part ex my current car with my personal plate on so have to wait for a new random one.

Yeah that makes sence. Just wondered how long i was going to have to wait for mine to come through.

Did you not try at the dvla office in reading? they might have been able to do it a bit quicker if you were there in person

Oh yes i went there yesterday and it can take upto 7days (7th day tomorrow) Im just being really impatient!!! Only way they can make it quicker is by calling to let us know paperwork is there so we can pick it up, rather then waiting for it in the post.
