alot of money! should check first, but here most of us think its not a good idea for a 18years old to hold a fast car

But insurance companies don't see it that way, because of your age they see you as a high risk.

I expect it will be pricey. I have 5 years ncb and got some quotes over £1k!

Best bet is to type your details in for one on some of the insurance sites.

It will be insurable, but will cost you bucks mate!

ha ha mate i am 20 2ncb have a 57 plate ST and i pay £1863 rang insurance companies today as mine is coming up for renewal and admiral quated me £2012 which is more than it was thihs year,
expect to pay anything from £2500-£4000

we had another lad who was your age and he was gonna pay out just over £4000 for insurance it it ridiculous and what is the point in spending all that money to then just bump and scrape it

not having a go mate just dont want you waisting all that money and then to find out that you have crashed, killed someone or evan yourself, the ST is stupidly quick and with you only being 18 you are still learning and it takes time to be able to control such a fast cat

Like the others have said, expect to pay a fair few thousand for it. I'm 23, 5 years NCB, clean licence and with direct line mine is just over £500.

where abouts you from?
should come down to some meets when they are arranged
ill ley you sit in it lol ha ha ha

if your sick of your car then get another one , i used to have a 106 quicksilver that was great light so it was quick as anything and also it was only a 1.4

It will cost you A LOT of money to insure. I'd get some quotes, but I expect it will be very pricey. You sound sensible, but as has been said insurance companies won't see it that way. It may be worth upgrading to a car halfway between your Corsa and the , get a little more experience and also more no-claims, and then get one in a couple of years time.

Try getting a Zetec S for now, its a 1.6 and looks exactly like a ST

I am 23, with no no claims due to accident earlier this year, insurance quotes are around £1500-£3000. I am female, so dont know whether that makes a difference, lol.

Think the Zetec S may be a good option for you. The insurance on an ST at 18 wil be insane and just not worth it.

I got my zetec s when i was 19, Cost me £1500 to insure. The best quote i got on the st was 3k. That was with 2 yrs ncb. You can't really go wrong with the zs. It is still a fast car and fun to drive. You can make it into a st replica like i did with mine. The prices for the parts like wheels and seats have come down alot in price since i did mine. Give it a test drive and see what you think. Give it a few years and then upgrade to an st or something faster.

I have driven both cars and you do notice a difference a slight difference in acceleration. But handleing there is not alot in it.
