Ultimate is suited more to a turbo engine anyway.

A focus ST will adapt to Super because there is a map built into the PCM for super.
As soon as the car senses that you've put super in it will switch to the different map.
The Fiesta ST can't and just runs rich (which has got to bugger the cat up eventually???)

People really are wasting their money on Super Unleadeds as the Engine ECU ignores it.
The car is only mapped for BP 95RON Unleaded. Some 95RONs are as good as BP (Shell) and some are worse (Tesco)

Not so much harming it just wasting your money.

Once you go back to 95RON you'll notice the difference

I heard somewhere (maybe on here) that the high octane stuff shouldn't be used on the Fiesta. I know a lot of people that do use it and have no complaints but i run mine on 95 and it's runs sweet. No supermarket fuel though, just shell and BP.

I noticed a considerable difference in my fuel consumption when i took off my induction kit.

k will go to normal fuel will only use good fuel so superarket is out the question , the cold air feed are okay checked them already. dave do you just use normal fuel also is their anything else i can do to get more mpg but not loose any performance

Well I have been getting 28-30mpg for some time. I reset it yesterday and managed to get 35mpg driving very gently.

I have an ecotek widget on mine, which definitely seemed to help at the start. Difficult to judge now whether it's doing anything, but I hope it is!

And yes Lee, if you only have 3.5k on the clock you may well get better consumption in the near future. I am sure I couldn't get mine above 27-28mpg driving gently when I first had the car so it does seem to get better over time.

Like Dave said though, if you are driving very gently and getting just over 25mpg there may be a problem with your k&n, hope you get it sorted anyways!
