Yeh that's the lumpy idle problem, common to STs, some worse than others.

Is it something i should be mentioning (and getting fixed under warranty) or is it just par for the course and something that i have to just deal with?
Cheers

It depends how bad it is.
The first ST I had was terrible and felt like a miss-fire. The current ST has the problem but nowhere near as bad.
There is a miss-fire sensor on the engine so if it was a real fault it would put the light on.
They'll just tell you it's a charchteristic of the car.
Mention it though by all means.
What fuel are you using BTW?

Try using a better quality petrol than Tesco.
My old Focus 1.8 used to "ping" on Tesco's.
Try and use BP or Shell.
I know some people say petrol is petrol, but it isn't.

I should hope not, i only got it just under 3 weeks ago. Only a year old in June and just done 3000 miles. Wouldnt be expecting to change the plugs etc already?
Is the petrol really that much of a factor? my focus always ran off tesco petrol (i only go there for club card points and coz its cheapest).

Ah i get you mate. Not sure im that concerned about it to bother, so long as its not doing any damage.
Just fill up with better petrol and give it a good run out.
Try and keep the revs above 5,000 for a minimum of 10 mins. That'll get the cat and HEGOs nice and hot, then they'll burn all the crap off.
That's the motorway speed limit in 3rd gear BTW.
