Well when i bought all the bits for the ice dealer to install they said dont forget to get an adapter for the steering remote, well when i looked at the adapters they were like 40 odd quid or something, so having already spent hundreds i didn't really want to spend any more. So when i saw the alpine head unit, and on the description it said it came with a universal steering wheel remote adapter, i was like, cool, that'll do me! So when they went to install it i said to them that it comes with it and if they could fit it and try and get it to work, if not then i wasn't that bothered. But when i picked it up in my excitement i forgot to ask and when i got home i tried it and it didn't work. I think there is something on the little apadter box that you can change, so whether its just a question of setting the right number on this box i dont know but there may be hope!?!

er, dunno the ice dealer already had a double din adapter so i didn't have to buy it. I would have thought there was more to it than sliding it in but then again what is there behined the dash unit to screw it into?!

I'd rather take it to an ice dealer than halfords

Have you cut the dashboard struts then?

So are halfords just fitting the wiring harness and not the actual radio then? Otherwise you're gonna have to keep you're dashboard off until you cut the struts.
