Just buying a ST , get it next week, just wondering if its classed as an easy Twoc. Plus would it be prudent to get one of those big wheel locks for added security.

Has any one actually had theirs stolen ??

Yep a few have been and its usually when your house has been broken into and your keys stolen rather than "the old fashioned way". Most modern cars are very diffcult to steal that way so the safety of your keys and locking yourself in (I'm sure one has been car jacked before) is aparmount.

Bits like the spoiler, fogs, reflectors, bumpers and rarely the wheels are nickable too so perhaps an alarm rather than a steering lock is the way to go?

It does indeed, but... it's very quiet when it sounds.

So its best to either use me autolock or use the wife's Disc lock (steering wheel locks) just in case.

I wouldn't worry about the car getting stolen, like saidabove it will likely be necesary to nick the keys, so you'd be betteroff with an alarm on your house!

The parts are of biggest concern, there seems to have been a hell of a lot of parts being taken, including my spoiler! Side skirts seem to be fairly desirable and even the bumpers

Get cctv up like I have

Disc Lock for sure, maybe aftermarket alarm with a pager/text to your mobile, Tracker is actually not too expensive and 99% chance you would get your car back, security mark your car and removable bits. More likely that it would "towed/Trailered" away than broke into and stolen/keys from house, so make it unmoveable at your home. I think the Dreamscience is brilliant in that as well as tuning you car up you can add a "blank Map" and the car won't start so another good antitheft device too.

Just sorted out me insurance, Ford Insure actually came in cheaper that Tesco at £350 FC. plus they told me if it is nicked or written off in its first year of life, they will replace it with a abrand new one. Saves the GAP insurance !!!.

Going to use Disc lock, plus when parked at me house it will be out side me front door with a sensor light and the keys in me safe.
Then again. the Wife's GOLF GT TDI 130 has never been touched at our house and that is quite a sort ater motor.
If it comes to it I will drop a post in on me drive.
