noted thanks, I was told that it was (maybe originally Magnex) and that Magnex have gone bust (haven't confirmed that myself) and that Piper were after getting the contract through a well known supplier we all know.

Im not sure about that i have know its been piper for months and this kit was developed in the early part of 2007. Its there own design so would be a headache to go through a 3rd party. These are direct from Piper.

i will post a pic of the engine bay i only have one of the manifold at work. im trying to get used to this forum its a bit different to ones i have used in the past.

well if you fancy a trip to Essex you can have it fitted at mountune for a little over £1,300

I was the first to have the kit fitted at there place and check out this months performance ford you should see a little pic of me and the car

insurance was no difference cos i already had a modified ST - Im with Greenlight

Dal

I have attached a pic if you can see it??

i thought it was £1300 plus fitting?
fair play m8, do like the 500's as well.
looked at the bhp graph the 165 has more power up tp 4500rpm, and the same nm as the 185.

no mate check there website -

Special offer for a limited period only: Fitted at Roush Technologies in Brentwood £1370 inc VAT and fitting

your just get an push with the 185 right at the top of the rev range due to the new cams - i will be going to STAGE 2 mountune but at the moment the car has only done 700 miles so keeping to STAGE 1 at the moment.

if anyone is serious about the kit and being fitted at mountune in Essex i will give you the details of someone who can get it booked in and organised.

Thanks

Dal

Ohh thats a good price for the kit, very tempting indeed.

About the torque curves, I note the torque comes in earlier on the 165 over the 185 kit. It would be interesting to hear your opinion on both, as you mention you will get the 185 at some stage.

After the Stage one, if I decided to go further, I think I would ask them about some ITB's, or well consult them to see what they thought would be a good option. Either way the Stage one sets you up for whatever you do to the car next.

My only prob is that im in Northern Ireland and there are no dealers doing the kits yet.

The 185 kit will be a dog on the road. You loose toque low in the rev range in order to gain it later on. For day to day driving it will be even more jumpy that the standard car. It'll be a blast at the top end, but you'll have to work to keep it on the boil and the fuel economy will be pants

165 kit is the best balance of increased power without loss low down the rev range..... i'd stick with it!

It is expensive... Its the warranty thats attractive.

But I dont think that there is much extra for the 185 kit.

I cant comment on the outputs of the kit, however they may be quite conservative on the 165 kit. But take into account its a Full exhaust system, including a sports cat, air filter and a remap, the price maybe isnt that bad.
