Ive been keeping an eye on this topic and just want to comment to stick up for mountune.
Mountune offer a full stainless steel exhaust system, K&N with Cold air intake and a remap for £1370 fitted right now. I dont know of any other company who offer the same for less and so considering its a ford back upgrade I think thats extremely great value.
Now mountunes own downfall maybe that there were maybe too honest and chose a very stingy set of rollers at TOTD to test their kits.
On these rollers cars the pumaspeed 180 package made 163 bhp rising to 169 bhp with the 190 map.
Cars with flexi, K&N's etc with making mid 150's so if you think your going to get the same performance increase without a full exhaust then you need to think again.
The only cars to beat the mountune 165 were cars with cams etc and even those were only making 174 bhp, far from the 190 bhp that its claimed they should make.

I've never driven the mountune 165 package, but I've always been impressed by the figures. I think their stage 2 package is far too top end heavy for day to day use but the 165 gives a very good balance of power gains and low end torque improvement.

Maestro no one on this site knows who you are but i have a fairly good idea.
Please behave as this is a post about moutune tuning. Not an oppitunity to slag off people on this site!!
Hello micky, you want know who I am because I dont know anybody of either this site or the other fiests st forum, I joined the other one a couple of months ago when I bought my st, Im very interested in getting the mountune package so always look out for all the info I can on both sites. Ive read updates on this thread for the last week or so but wanted to defend moutune abit when comments got a bit silly.
I havent slagged off anyone and wouldnt dream of doing so, I just want to participate in a friendly debate.
I just see alot of people slagging of the moutune package but when youve actually looked harder into it like I have then the numbers do stack up.
just to repeat
to get a 15 or so bhp increase in horsepower then you need a full exhaust, airfilter and remap.
currently mountune do this for £1400 and pumaspeed do this for £1500 plus fitting.
Im split between the 2 kits my heart says pumaspeed because of the great performance, my head says mountune for the warranty and peace of mind.
I would like to see some 0-60 times etc on the mountune.

I agree I think maybe moutune have missed a trick or 2, personally I would have liked to see 0-60 times and maybe even a video of a drag between standard st and tuned car to see the performance increase in action
The supercharger kit sounds fantastic but I I have some concerns.
1) most insurance companies want touch an aftermarket supercharged car, I know because i rang about every single one asking.
2) The ST isnt a dragster, its all about the b roads, its strength is its handling, will it be the same with an extra 70bhp? or will it understeer like the high powered vauxhall cars?
3) will the engine and transmission cope ok with the extra power, how long untill you need a new gearbox or the clutch starts slipping etc, thats a big increase.

You have hit the nail on the head, there are many factors to tuning a car. I think the mountune kits address that. This video may be of use to some people... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmP_0IAsyM4Note the sprint figures are as much to do with the driver as anything. The Fast Ford feature on the tuned ST's pretty much proves that.
