Well, like a fool today i was at a roundabout and looked right, was clear, thought the guy infront of me had gone and went into back of him. So annoyed with myself but we were both happy to leave it as it was and drive on (he said it was his fault). Anyway, i now need a new front bumper in silver as mine is cracked . 1. Anyone any idea of how much this will set me back (brand new and maybe 2nd hand) 2. How easy is it to take off existing bumper and replace with another? 3. Dont suppose anyone knows of anyone selling one/goodplace to get one? Cheers

Sorry to hear about your mishap, but these things happen.
Luckily, plenty of front bumpers are for sale on ebay so getting hold of one shouldn't be too hard. Not sure how hard they are to fit, but make sure if you are getting one off ebay that its not been pinched from someone elses car!!
You might be as well checking with ford what a new one would cost and getting it sprayed up in silver?

How bad is the damage? You know its ABS so you can weld it with a soldering iron, fill and local spray the front.

as steve1981 stated, it can be welded back together
You reckon that a local garage will be able to do this? any idea of cost?

It all depends how badly the damage is as to whether it can be repaired or not. A couple of years back, I managed to put a slight crack in my rear bumper, and they managed to fix it for £90. You can't tell that there was ever anything wrong with it.
It's pretty bad, i will try get some pics up tonight and you can see what you all think. Really hope it can be fixed, i cant afford a brand new one and spraying so will have to stay looking battered and brusied unless can be fixed

I nearly joined the club of "need a new front bumper" - had a run it with a rabbit on the way home but it turns out that the head of a rabbit is not as resiliant as the front bumper Poor little bugger didn't see what hit him

Cheers mate, i been getting quoted £400 for the bumper and it sprayed/labour etc. So the £170ish repair will do me. Dont have £400 kicking about.

on a previous car I crack the back bumper and after a while u could the crack again and after just a small touch and it was crack all over again so it always better to buy a new one even so its expensive but on the other side if the job is done properly then it should be ok but it never be as strong as the original part
Well i would pay for it to be done at a Ford bodyshop so you would think it's done properly? I cant decide what to do?! do i pay the extra (which i really cant afford) and get a whole new bumper. Or do i just go for the fix up job?

is there only damage on the front of the bumper or there is more damage behind it? cos if thats the case then u probably would have to change it
Well the guy at the 2nd dealer said that he couldnt comment on any damage behind but did say that it would only be visual, no actual damage that would put me in danger etc...... I think im going to just go for the repair.....
