depends how confident you are in repairing it yourself mate. ive repaired worse on my old cars but not sure if i would tackle the ST lol
a bodyshop should be able to do something without replacement judging the pictures

well guy at Ford quoted me about £170 inc VAT to get it done. Thats labour and everything so not too bad i suppose, still £170 i would rather have spent elsewhere.

Cheers mate, i been getting quoted £400 for the bumper and it sprayed/labour etc. So the £170ish repair will do me. Dont have £400 kicking about.

Had you been up to Scotland to get them? It's the only place you can still get pound notes!

Ok update and ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE......

I have gone to one Ford Dealer who has said they can repair it for about £150 plus VAT.

Just been to another Ford Dealer (who knew i had already been told by previous dealer they would repair it) that they wouldnt repair it as it is too badly cracked and that if it was repaired, over the coming months as the car went over speed bumps etc etc the filler would gradually crack and the problem would be visible again.

Anyway, im unsure what to do now as the cost of a new bumper fitted/sprayed etc is £400 plus.

on a previous car I crack the back bumper and after a while u could the crack again and after just a small touch and it was crack all over again so it always better to buy a new one even so its expensive but on the other side if the job is done properly then it should be ok but it never be as strong as the original part

Well i would pay for it to be done at a Ford bodyshop so you would think it's done properly? I cant decide what to do?! do i pay the extra (which i really cant afford) and get a whole new bumper. Or do i just go for the fix up job?

don't think that make alot of change if it was done by ford or not but would be a waste of money if the job wouldn't hold for long don't no what other think?

Hmm... I'm not too sure here. Mine wasn't quite as bad as that when I damaged my rear bumper, but it was cracked and had bits sticking up and everything. I got it repaired and nearly two years later it's still fine, and you can't tell it was ever damaged.

Hmmmm, im thinking if i get it done and it go bad 6 months down the line i could go back and say "whats going on?"....... From speaking to a couple of people away from this forum who work in garages they say a repair would be ok, but they have only seen the pics like you all have......
