Hi Everyone

I had my Ford Fiesta ST stolen from my house in Bishops Stortford yesterday morning around 2am. the registration plate is EN07XVA if any body does see it please could they report it to the authorities, as they actually managed to break into the house and steal the keys, I know this is a long shot but you never know.

The car is in Performance blue and had full leather interior, ESP,Bluetooth, privacy glass and ST stripes on the side.

I have attached a photo of the car as well

Many thanks for reading

I've added the picture onto your post from the attachment and I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

I know its no help to you but just to warn overs... KEEP YOUR KEYS WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES... if you go out, take them with you and if you go to bed... take them to your bedroom, don't leave them on the stairs, kitchen side or hanging up where they are easily found.

If people don't know where Bishops Stortford is located then it is North of London.

You may find this car located around your area in a bad estate or still around London. I wouldn't have thought it will be shipped off up North and if it has then they would have changed the plates to an identical looking car. Sometimes they are stole to order also and put into lorries, containters and shipped straight off.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but knowing the facts sometimes helps things out.

I hope you get it returned, if not then I hope you get a quick and swift payout so you can get another or different car.

I will make sure I keep a watch out and i'm sure others on the site will also!!!

Keep your eyes on ebay/autotrader/pistonheads and your local papers for a blue matching your's, even if the reg plate isn't yours!!!

very very sorry to hear that, and I know a bit late now, but for benefit of us all, ensure your car keys are very well hidden or not in the house. It's easy to just leave them lying around on view through windows.

hope you have a result and get it back unmarked.

Whilst I understand why you say take your keys to bed I happen to disagree.

If someone is desperate enough to break into your house for your car keys then they are more than likely willing to do whatever needs to be done to get those keys. I would much rather keep the keys away from where my family sleep then wake up in the middle of the night to find them injured, or worse, just because someone has gone upstairs in search of the keys because they couldn’t find them downstairs.

Yes keep all keys hidden and never just leave them lying around but you have to remember that not all thieves will give up if they can’t find the keys downstairs.

As much as we all love our cars they are just cars and can be replaced.

Its never nice to read these stories and i hope that you get your car back

Indeed Lisa you are correct but you can take them to your bedroom and hide them in that case.

It is VERY VERY rare that you would get such violent theives looking for your keys to the extent they will come to your room and try and harm you. They are mostly teenagers or young men who just want to get an easy catch without any trouble or bother whilst getting them... If they can't find them easily downstairs they will just leave it and go in search of another.

I keep mine with me but I agree, if someone held a knife or gun at me, i'd give them my keys without even a second thought.

my keys never leave my site, thy are either in my pocket, or in my draw or somwhere else thats safe, i am always telling people to not leave their keys lying around. what i dont understand is what they do with them once they are stolen, they cant exactly drive around in them for very long or sell them on as they would have no docs to prove it was theirs. so they must just thrash them to bits them burn them out, so im guessing your car is burnt out somwhere mate. its a shame it really is. i have had my st not long now just gone over 3600 miles in 3 months, and i would be absolotuley mortified/shocked/suicidal if somebody stole my baby!!

No mate... the police do a search on the road network cameras, they store information on where you go all the time without you even knowing, you will see them on motorway bridges and at the side of A roads.

The cars usually never make it to an A road or the motorway... they are drove into a lorry and then put into a container and shipped off to the continent where they are then sold on by these crooks.

or

They are stripped of parts and used on another car

or

The plates are changed to an identical looking car and documents lost or forged and sold on.

or

Thrashed about, dumped and possibly burnt out.
