On leave all week, miserable weather, had enough and going back in tommorrow, might as well save my leave for whenever summer arrives, all started last saturday when I Collinite'd my car and as normal rains almost immediately I finish.
Wanted to do some nice bike rides in the Lakes this week and weather just hasn't been good enough to bother going, managed a short drive/ride today not far from home.
At least the Tour De France is on telly ITV4 7.00pm, It's "Millar Time" can he get into the Yellow Jersey after his fine 2nd place in the TT yesterday.

Bradley lived where I live for a short while, I used to blow him off when he was out training (if only) I never actually saw him.

I had to give up cycling a couple of years ago, I've got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I've also had to give up my job too, hopefully one day I'll be well again and I get back on a bike again.

Good job I didn't tell you where Mark finished today or even if he did finish today!

sometimes see Brad pedalling a huge gear up some of the hills around where I cycle, Trough of Bowland.
As for CFS, I really hope someday you recover fully, my mate had this and he was a top club rider winning a fair amount of events and titles, the only way back is rest, and riding little and often, sometimes he could only ride gently for 15mins and that was enough. He is now back cycling and racing to a good standard. I know there is a lot on the Net about this and much you can do to help return back to some form of decent health.

Thanks Steve,

At the moment I have a job to walk around the block most days,I'm thankfull that I can still walk, I've come across a lot of people on the web that say they can no-longer walk. I try not to think about all the things I can't do these days, thinking about it just makes me frustrated and depressed.

Going for a walk around the block now, its very easy to just give up when your legs ache like this all of the time.

Keep on going Stuart, , when you feel like giving in, think of us lot on here egging you on..... we are all with you.

You have the psychological stamina, we know you have, you had it before you can be there again.

Thanks Kevin,

Its a complicated and little understood illness, It would be very easy for me to never leave the house and sink even lower. I mostly have a positive attitude that I'm going to be well again one day. I just need to keep active and be patient.

Hoping to go and study some GRP moulds this weekend at an open day to help with my project that has like everything else in my life taken a bit of a backseat.

Thanks for the support and kind words Rick I appreciate it.

Yes ME is grouped with CFS, I've come across people who've suffered with it for over twenty years, I believe 4 years is an average time to suffer with it. I've been suffering for around 2 years now, I only found out about CFS a couple of months ago from a guy at the job centre! until then I was told I had depression.

This gives a good description http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_fatigue_syndrome

I hope you get sorted out with a new job soon.

Cheers
Stuart

no worries Stuart,

i was listening to it on radio 1's surgery thing they do on a sunday night. some had rung them cant remember if it were a lad or a girl. anyway the person was quite young, going to uni in september. i felt a bit bad for him/her as people assumed they were just lazy when they actually a pretty serious condition.

i can kind of relate to how you feel about having to keep going and not giving up on the walking. ive had asthma for as long as i can remember, not in same league as what your going through but it stopped me doing anything remotely active while i was at school. it got to the point where i just wouldnt even try to do any excercise in case it brought on an attack so i just give up. i was even frightened to have sex for the first time because i kept thinking i would have an attack! but when i left school and started working, making new friends etc i thought to myself "no its not goin to stop me, balls to it"

the ashtma has been under control now for about 5 years after trying different combinations of inhalor and doseage etc so i can do loads. the only major thing that gets me wheezing now is if i get over excited and laugh too much!

stay as positive as you can mate, im sure you have a few good mates to fall back on when you have a bad day. if no ones around there are a couple of thousand people here you can relese a bit of tension to!!
