My rear washer jet has stopped working for the past week, front ones are fine.

I've used a pin in the nozzle to free up anything, screenwash is full - the front washer jets are fine.

Any ideas how to resolve this? Strange how the front ones are perfect but the back has suddenly packed in. Motor is buzzing away but still nothing.

Try not to use washing up liquid in washer bottles as it turns into slime and clogs up.

You will have to remove the pipe from the washer bottle and blow it through with a bit of compressed air.

It may just be severely froze up and will clear if you run some neat screen wash through.

50:50 or more mix for winter and 25% max for summer BTW

Don't keep working your motor to try and clear it as you will cook the pump.

I would go with a Blocked pipe, if the fronts are working away its certainly not the pump, as above get some compressed air down the pipe to dislodge any rubbish in there, should do the trick

My Sister-In-Laws brand new Fiesta rear washers stopped working.

I traced the pipe back as far as i could go and found that it was 'kinked' at the tail gate.

I unplugged it, twisted it, and all sorted.

Keep us informed.

how do you open the top centre brake light? I've disconnected the pipes under the bonnet and the water flows out no problem. The problem is between the pipe leading to the back jet - I haven't done the compressed air yet till I get some.

Fancy removing the brake light to check out the pipe their but cannot figure out once those small rubber caps are removed - where's the screws?

I thought the high level brake light just snapped in.

how do you take it out though? I don't want to force it out and end up cracking the plastic. Inside behind the light are two rubber caps, I've removed them but there's nothing there to unscrew/unclip....

it says "depress the metal springs through the aperture using a flat-bladed screwdriver"

I can't see any springs, driving me mad as I know this should and probably is really easy to remove.

There is 2 metal springs, try shining a small torch light into the holes where you remove the rubber grommets, get a flat blade screwdriver and push up on the springs, while gently levering the light out. Have removed light before on mk6 ghia to replace bulb. All should be the same. They arent springs as in coil springs just spring metal.

still no joy - disconnected the pipe under the bonnet - water squirts out no problem.

So I blew compressed air up the pipe which leads to the back, with the back also unplugged for the air to simply flow through - still no joy. Maybe not enough pressure using my measly compressed air can (which usually cleans pc components!)

not that this helps but my washers stopped working yesterday, so i had a quick look and it was just that the pipes had frozen in the cold, lol, i topped up with some neat screen wash!

it may be the pump on my old clio the pump would still make a noise etc but it was not creating enough pressure to force the liquid along the pipe, simple enough to replace though.

This may be a stipid idea but is it possible to connect the pipe for the rear squirt to the feed for the front squirt? See what happens? I was just thinking is the pump motor tried spinning up while there was frozen liquid in the pump it might have stripped a gear or something.
