Indeed, it's a shame you guys cant make it as numbers seem to be dwindling away... fingers crossed the one or two of us who do go up will have a nice weekend regardless. As you say Lee, there will be a few more at FITP in May, and if we decide to have a summer event this year then maybe see a few more then.

Argggg... its seriously frustrating not being able to go and having to be beached up at home. This is the first and only event/meet that i've not been able to attend, but unfortunatley it's out of my control

That's pretty bad... it does seem everyone's having to take a step backwards though.

All was going well for me tbh and I was set to get things going and look to move out in the near future but with my job loss it's caused a hard handbrake turn and i'm slowly but surely going the wrong way with things.

I looked at IT jobs yesterday and there was 1 in the midlands that wasn't asking for a 25 year old with 50 years experience. I selected "ALL" IT jobs also...

I've been looking for IT jobs in the Midlands too. Not many decent ones around. I always find there are quite a few jobs advertised paying 40K a year managing a load of staff needing years and years of experience in something nobody has heard of. It's not easy for guys in their 20's with not much experience. You looked at any grad schemes?

Hi guys just to draw your attention I know a few of you have had to drop out of the Scotland meet due to Financial reasons and the distance, myself and Pat are running a trip to Abersoch during Easter to drive around and camp out! This is meant as a cheaper alternative and will be a quality laugh! Let me know if your interested and I can sort out a pass for campsites and details of meeting points. Cost will be around £8 per night but the more people we can get the more discount we get! Its roughly 2 hours driving time from Manchester so you can work out where it is in relation to yourselves. Let me know ASAP guys and girls!

It would be bloody freezing to camp this time of year... referring to past experience from camping at the Easter Event 2007 - Yorkshire... my god it was freeeezzzing lol.

It's a good alternative for the south of the UK and people in Wales too

I hope that people in and around Scotland still meet up as it would be nice to see whats up there since I can't go

It would be freezing there, I can remember how bad it was in Yorkshire, everyone nearly caught hypothermia, and was having to drive around at 4am just to keep warm lol.

I'll try my best to get some nice photos for you to Scott to see what things are like there. I think it's dropped down totally now that there's only going to be me there for the whole weekend with Lee dropping in on the Saturday and Sunday, but I'll try my best.

What a shame. I am definitely going. I am booked for the night in Inverness on the Friday - going up the West side of Scotland (Glen Coe/ Loch Ness)with my mate. Hoping to maybe get up to John O'Groats - just to say I have been there, and for the drive. You are more than welcome to come along! I am booked in Edinburgh on the Sat so will definitely attend.

Thanks for the offer Lee, and I'll definitely take you up on some of that at least. I have already got a hotel booked in Edinburgh for the Friday night, so I'll probably join you as far as Inverness/Loch Ness way and then shoot off back down to Edinburgh and meet up again on the Saturday. It would be nice to go as far as John O'Groats so that like you I could say I've been there, but I think it would just be a little too far for me doing over 700 miles in one day! I'm sure I'll get there another time and I'll def follow you up as far as Loch Ness though.
