Definately gonna get luckily on my way a Seat Ibiza Cupra came racing up behind me, I saw him early enough to drop a gear (or 2)and floor it. The roads round here are pretty twisty and through the corners, especially the tighter ones I was pulling away fast but along the straights his extra power (and lighter car) really showed. I was really alarmed at the body roll he seemed to have. When a "hot hatch" (i use the term loosely) can't keep up with a 1.8 Focus, then it's not worth having. Somebody please tell me they would have blasted past me in their !!!
Only thing stopping me now is my ex wife , once the house is sold I'll really show that Ibiza what a car should be able to do!!

Guess it depends on the driver, but I'm sure I would've blasted past!

I never actually drove the Ibiza Cupra. I went down the Seat garage and had a chat, but ultimately it was too expensive for me, plus I'm not taken on the styling of it. The ST is definitely the right choice, even if it is less powerful than the diesel Ibiza!

Hope you get the house transfer sorted out without too much bother, I deal with that sort of thing at work and know how complicated they can sometimes be...

The ST is definately the better looking car, The Seat dealer was offering a good discount - Ibiza Cupra (Diesel) for £13.5k OTR. Plus £3.5K for my W reg 1.8 Focus with 75k on the clock!!!, but the ST is a better car and I would regret it forever if I got anything else at this stage.

Thanks Parksey, No rush with the house at the mo, it's fairly amicable so should be ok.

I,d of past you and the Seat easily on the bends,in a straight line in theory the Seat should win.So if the Seat can,t keep up with the focus, the Fiesta will do at least 10% faster in the corners. Therefore you,re exit speed will be much higher, you would leave the Seat in the dust.I,ve a road test somewhere and on the same track the Seat was almost 3 seconds slower over 1.5Km.Thats a lot!
