the spring on my clutch pedal gives a springy squeak every time i use it. it is a bit embarrasing as it reminds me of the springs on an old mattress

anyone else have a squeaky pedal? any ideas for remedy? thx

I'm sure greasing the spring helps

I've found more that clutches squeak more in the winter, I think myself that's it's due to expansion of the metal spring from the footwell heater. But I could be just plain wrong!

This is a common problem, mine was squeaky as well when I first got it. I asked them to have a look at it at the 1500 mile service, they greased it, and it's been fine ever since (over three and a half years later).

I've also noticed this one...

Seems like a bit of grease will do the trick then.

i had this when i first got mine, there was a post on here saying wd40 so i got wd40 and down to the pedal in an awkward position so as to do all of it including the top. end of squeak (touch wood)

Hey guys, my clutch spring has started squeeking this morning ( prolly due to the cold i suppose ) - is the spring visible when you can squeeze yourself into the footwell?

Im presuming its obvious what spring to lubricate? sorry if this sounds silly but im no mechanic!! Wouldnt want to slap some grease / wd40 on the wrong thing!

Thanks

Adam

Yeah mine had it too. Ford looked at it during service, greased it and fine since September.
