Has anybody got any idea yet about a new fiesta st being announced, ive serched on this forum obviously and all through google autoexpress etc but cant find anything......am i answering my own question then that there has been nothing released yet?

just wondering because i should have an st inside a month but just wondering weather i should save and wait a bit extra time maybe?

Ford haven't announced anything one way or another yet. The last time this topic was raised some months back the debate on the likelihood of Ford making one got a little heated, so I'll just quickly summarise some of what was said.

There IS a model number allocated on Ford's system for a new Fiesta ST being made. Some people feel this means that there definitely will be one, some feel it doesn't mean anything yet because Ford haven't said anything publically about making one. One theory is that Ford are keeping quiet at the minute so as to encourage people who change their cars annually to buy the Zetec-S this year rather than holding out for a new ST when it arrives.

My opinion for what it's worth is that there will be a new ST eventually but don't expect one for at least another 12 months.

There will be another Fiesta ST but Chris is correct as there won't be anything for about 10-12 months.

I'd watch this year's Motor Shows carefully though, also, take a much closer look at the interior/exterior shots of the Fietsa concept car that was shown now that the actual Fiesta is on sale, that'll give you some clues.

There is alot of new hardware being added accross the Ford range very soon so expect all the specs of current Fords to change quite considerably this year.

In regards to whether you should wait, that all depends on how good a deal you can get on buying one of the last ST150s.

ok, thanks guys for that, i knew it may be a "hot" topic so i didnt want to stir up to much. its just hard to decide weather to get like a zetec or style and live with that for a year or so and just save so i could pretty much buy the new one outright or get one of the last ones in march.

there is a place doing them for £9,495 new which i thought was ok and i have the bonus of paying cash up front so maybe a slight discount??

I've seen £8995 for retail customers.
Shop around. There may not be many left now though.

they were next to none left last month when I was looking for a white one....got ofered a blue 1 from a dealer in Newcastle and a black or a blue one near me all basic models with no extras

hhmmm it may have to be a 2nd hand 08 platwe thn maybe!!!
