Evening all, been looking around at what bits i can buy for my new car!

Theres a Samco Ancillary kit that you can get that consists of 4 tubes / pipes - what do these replace in the engine bay? just curious as if im changing to an induction kit i dont want one of the samco's to be a direct replacement for one of the standard air box pipes.

And im presuming you dont need to drain any fluid's away before being able to swap pipes over?

Also ive got a blue ( with white stripes ) ST - so would blue samco's be best or go for something wacky like red / orange?

Also looking at the K&N 57i kit - had one of these on a previous car and it was pretty sweet - do you get any trouble with the MAF sensor when running an induction kit on the ST ( not even sure its for one tbh! ) - its just that on my scooby an induction kit could seriously mess up your air flow sensor.

Do you notice any difference? on my mr2 turbo the 57i kit didnt give any sort of roar it just sucked air in really loudly!!

What would be the best place to get the above parts? ebay?

Hi mate, no maf sensor and the 57i kit works well on the st, worthwhile mod, got mine off ebay a few months old paid £44 inc delivery.

Ive got loads of warranty left on the car ( 30 months! ) - im presuming its ok to fit a k and n without voiding my warranty?

Check with your dealer some are ok, mine is fine about the filter and its basically the same as the one ford use on the mountune kits.

Who is you dealer? My ford dealer states that any engine mod may void my warranty. He said that the warranty would still be active for the rest of the car but not the engine. I then explain that it would the same type as the mountune kits. He then said that it would be down to to warranty assessor.???

Is it best to contact ford direct?

My dealer is in co, Durham and the service manager is a good bloke, I did use another dealer to look at a tapping noise on my car and the techy advised me to remove the k@n, not because it was causing any problems, but he said with so many car manufacturers struggling at the minute, they are finding any means possible to get out of warranty claims, so i did remove it just incase, the car got fixed and i put the filter back on, you could ask ford direct where you stand with the filter, it must be proven if its good enough for mountune, and even k@n give a million mile warranty.

I just fitted a Induction kit on mine, No you dont have to drain any fluids.
I have the same affect as you. I get a really loud suction noise, But i get a slight lower pitched noise to the engine as well...

As for speed, I cant really say, maybe as tad quicker? Ill have to race one of my friends again to see for sure

my dealer is fine with me having an induciton and flexi, aslong as nothing breaks as a direct result of those parts then it doesnt matter
