ok anybody know anything about these, I can have one fitted for £260 it is a GSM pager system which will page you on your moby should you car be interfered with, so range is unlimited. All you need is a pay as you go sim card.
So will it work with my pay as you go moby Nokia 6300 - is that a GSM phone ?

Does that have to be fitted to a Clifford alarm system of is it a stand alone system/alarm?

I've just pre-reg for Tracker system to be fitted, aint cheap though £462 for install and first year subscription. Not sure if its worth it on a Fiesta. Any money saved on insurance will have to pay for annual fees.

I'm thinking the money is better off spent on helping make the car stop better.

Is anyone likely to nick a Fiesta ST?

More likely to have parts nicked, would only really be nicked as a joy ride really but then it's still luck of he draw if they come across your car first

it works best with Clifford as it can access more clifford features and in turn Text you to say what your car is upto BUT can be installed with any alarm.
Tracker Monitor(Lifetime) is £600 something now I think lifetime is better value as rarely change my cars.
Yep plenty of ST's are stolen, only have to read forums, most is theft of the removable bits, manchester has had a spate of, kicking your front door in and asking politely for your keys !
I agree on brakes, not touching mine until out of warranty but might try mintex pads on standard discs.

bit more info, can be set up on the Clifford Prox so you would get a text whenever something sets the warn away been off, have mine set so that you have to be right upto window, so could be useful for anyone whipping bits off car as it would be beeping and texting me.

Rather have some sort of bigger deterent.
Remember in South Africa you can have flame throwers to the sides to stop car jacking. I always lock my doors when in the car.

The GSM alert is a good system. Might be an idea to go better and have the real time tracking done by a good tracking company, then they'll get on with the job of recovery straight away.

A tracker seems a bit extreme for a fiesta...

If mine goes i dont want it back, not after some scumbags rallied it all over and thrashed it to bits, would never feel the same again. The only thing that lets it down is that crap alarm noise, It should have had a better siren and you should of been able to adjust the sensitivety of the alarm.

just thinking a good inbetween system and affordable, what we want is to know if somebody messing with our cars, prox shouldn't go off much if set for close up only and then this is exactly what we want to know.
Adam if you live in MC or Wales, you would want a Tracker ! having seen what is happening on other forums, I do agree a bit wouldn't want it back but No Way joy riders can take our cars, and the pros don't want to damage them or be caught driving above speed limit.
Tez, simple add a seperate alarm to work with the fitted one - I did.
Just thought I would keep us all abreast of anything useful.
cheers all

No point spending all that money on a fiesta, A tracker is a bit extreme for one, The chances of someone actually stealing them is very low, As for joy rides most people would nick shitty cars like Rovers ect...

Things that can easily be stolen without alarms...

An alarm is good enough for a Fiesta ST for sure

are you joking??

i know of loads of ST's that have been stolen in the last 12 months and none has any aftermarket security.

a clifford alarm is a must have, dont rely on the standard system, also add a disclock
