Hello all,

I'm new to the forums but I'm a huge fiesta fan, and my cousin and I made a video entry for the Fiesta Movement contest going on in the US.

Ford is picking 100 entrants to drive the new fiesta before it is released in the US, and they are picking winners based on the video entry.

The contest is judged by the video, as well as youtube hits, reviews, and comments.

If you have a few minutes to spare, please check out the video and pass it on if you like; it's sure to give you a few laughs!

Thank you,

Jim

Hey Jim,

Thank you for signing up to the forum

You'll be unhappy to know that the fiesta is already here and has been for a while now... my neighbour has one in blue.

I have been to a showroom to see one and have a good look around it but found the dash was too long and the back was too enclosed due to the high and small windows. I did review a 3 door though so unsure as to the 5 door.

I believe that this is the first that has been shipped over from Europe to you guys? If it is then you'll love it, much better then the american junk produce. Even the focus that you have was killed by Americans... the UK version is so much nicer, plus you don't have the version

It's really interesting having an American lover on here as I know quite a few of you are crying out for European models and have been for quite a while now

Has everyone forgot the MKI Focus??

MKI & II Capri was sold in US/Canada as a Lincoln

MKI Fiesta was sold in US until 1981 with a modded 1.6 X-Flow and round headlamps (That's how we got the XR2)

It's not exactly the same for US as crash designs and emission specs are different

Wasn't the mk1 heavily re-worked though for the us?

As far as i'm aware the us fiesta hasn't been changed. It's the same spec where ever it is.

(sorry thats what i meant by same in all markets)

Hey all,

Thank you for the support. One car I also wish we would see over here is the Mondeo (not sure if I spelled it right).

From watching Top Gear it seems like a very solid car.

Oh well, maybe if we make the Fiesta popular we'll start seeing more UK cars shipped over here --- I certainly wouldn't mind that!

Thank you again for all your support.

Jim

Focus was US specced for crash and emissions same as B299 Fiesta is.

US Fiesta's grille and front bumper will be different to Europe's.

ST170 was US SVT with different bumpers only for example.

I also forgot that the Sierra was available in US as XR4Ti which was what the Xr4i was supposed to be till the last minute when they put the 2.8 injection in it.
It was a 2.3 carb V6 with a turbo

I have noticed on alot of U.S forums there are usually comments about wanting european cars.

As for the mondeo i wouldn't mind the one you guys are getting.

v6 twin turbo and 4wd

Hey Guys. It's Will from the video. Thank you all so much for pulling together to help me out I really appreciate it. People in America don't know what a good car is and I want to help them out and I see the Fiesta as the first logical step. America has this horrible perception of small cars as pieces of junk but In the rest of the world you can get fully loaded small cars with bluetooth, nav, and all sorts of thing. The Fiesta will represent the small car in a big way, the styling is absolutely beautiful, and if we ever get the diesel maybe I would never have to see a prius again? I can only dream. Thanks again - I'll keep in touch

Your Yank,
William

Hi Will, we would not be able to put fuel in most of your big American cars, the cost of fuel over here is taxed high, so more people buy smaller cars and yes the spec on our smaller cars is pretty good, then there is the options list which makes them better.

Hey Tez, that makes a lot of sense thanks for the lesson. I don't think most Americans know what an MPG is.

I think its the Taurus,

at the mpg and the prius. It seems that because it's got an electric motor in it, it's an eco car. Not to mention that most european cars are twice as economical.
