my fronts now have some wear on the outside, more cracking than actual wear, however the insides are now showing some wear, driver side a little more than other side. Middles are fine. Are the "insides" the norm for wear ?

maybe need to get the tracking checked....the does have a tendence to wear the inner edge quicker than the outter....have you lowered it?

i noticed on mine when i was washing it today that my wheels do lean in quite a bit, it wouldnt be the tracking thats out its the geometry of the wheel, the tracking only tests if the wheels are parallel to each other, i had a geometry check on my escort cause it was doing the same thing i never had a problem after that

not lowered, i think it's just the norm the way car is set up. I would think a bit more wear and they would MOT fail, garage might pick up on it at second service too, I'll ask them to check, shame if they need replacing as the middles look like new, 8,500 miles from new so not bad compared to what others get, but I drive like a granny on bends, I only mountune it on straight bits

I know it sounds stupid but have you checked that the tyre pressures are correct? This can affect which parts of the tyre wear quickest.

My front ones are wearing in the same way. I had put it down to going in my drive at an angle which knocks the tracking out. If it's not the tracking I had better get it checked. I check my tyre pressures regularly too.

Generally if your pessures are low the edges will wear quicker and too higher pressure and the middle wear quicker.

It's one of the reasons manufactures suggest tyre pressures, you may find benifits in fuel economy or grip by moving away from the reconmended pressures but you may find uneven wear as a result.

Or your tracking is out!

Thinking of going for Toyo TR 1s i thinkeither them or proxies 4 whichever are better only thing is i got a small budget on tyres i got quoted at kwik fit over 280 quid for 2 tyres and fitting! same with national tyres. Joke....
