Greetings all, hope you are all well.

I can imagine this topic has been raised many a time, and i apologise for raising it again but i do struggle to use the search engine on this forum, as it very often returns a bunch of topics that are completely unrelated to what i have typed into the search field!

Upon trying to reset the trip comp by holding down the reset button, nothing happens anymore, i have tried this with the key in the number 2 position as well as when the engine is running, but to no avail. I can't toggle through the various readings either by single presses of the button, it just seems as though the button has malfunctioned.

Is this a trip to Ford? Or is there a workaround?

Many thanks in advance for the time taken to read and respond to this post.

Regards,

Simon.

Does the rest of the indicator stalk work OK?

You could try removing the upper shroud and disconnecting then re-connecting the indicator stalk connector about five times.
You may have to remove the radio remote stalk to get access, I can't remember.

You may find the wire has pinned out and is not touching the the terminal on the switch.

IIRC pin 10 is the reset button

Failing that it sounds like a faulty switch.

Cheers for the suggestions, the rest of stalk works fine - it's purely the reset button.

I'm going to give Ford a call and see what they have to say about it, i may do more harm than good removing the shroud (and they might well try to invalidate the warranty by saying i've been tampering!) i'm guessing they should sort it free of charge as the car is only a year old!

Many Thanks,

Simon.
