was wondering how much i would reasonably get in a private sale for my fezza st, ford offered me 8,500 against the focus st, its 08 plate pb, kaylan flaps, all engine will be standard i.e no induction or flexi, has white side stripes, 14k miles, first service done in march by ford, 2 brand new front tyres nothings ever broken or been dmaged on it, all wheels in superb condition, has cc washer jets and tubing, st front grille badge, what kind of money we talkin for it?? as i might sell privately and just walk into ford with cash

£8,500 sounds pretty good enough! ...but you could have a go pushing for privately

I'd say you've been offerred a pretty good deal there already. I don't know if there's any left now, but when dealers were selling off the last of the ST's over the last few months then they were selling them for £8995, so not much more. I know of someone on the Focus RS forums that ordered a new Focus RS and is getting similar to what you've been offerred for trading in an 08 plate Focus ST3! I know in that case he was silly for not telling them to get stuffed and go elsewhere, but it gives you an idea that you have been given a decent deal there.

I'd say give it do the dealer. You can get new ones for 9.5K and private you won't get anywhere near the dealer price. Also it takes out the hassle of selling privatley.

dealer said to me private id get 9k all day long, thinking of getting a new st2 with all the extras i want, and payin 350 a month finance over 3 yeears on the remaining balance after giving them my st, cos a year old st2 is going for a few k then when it was new so not much of a loss and i know its not been ragged or anything:D plus i could keep it standard for a couple thousand mile and get used to its power while running it in then moontune for deffinate and be smokin type rs and vxrs:D

definitely give it to the dealer at that price. MAke sure they aren't overcharging on the Focus though, I would say £8.5k is VERY good. No chance private mate too many cheap ones
