Have booked car in on 13th. Ford said that they recommend a change at the two year point (extra dosh of course), I said seemed to be fine not required, they do test the fluid for its boiling point or something or other, I said if it fails this then by all means chage it.

That sound like rubbish but could be wrong.

Brake fluid does take a hammering and needs to be changed. It looses some of it's properties over time. Like most other fliuds in the car oil, antifreeze etc.

They look at it simple as & if they reckon it need replacing they do it. I had mine changed at the 4th one she had because it had a lot of gunk in the bottom of the reservoir.

Yeh, you can tell if it needs doing, it becomes less and less clear and more brown.

The test they do is to see how much it has been watered down by condensation (debatable).
Ford recommends every two years/25,000 if you've done that or you're hard on your brakes then go for it.

If it still looks quite clean then leave it another year.

I did mine at 3 years on my Focus and it was still quite clean TBH.
