Yeah thats fine scott. Everyone is totally allowed thier own opinion. The supercharger whine isnt actually apparent once at a steady speed but when you accelerate it is. The thing I really objected to in the above post from Dave was Just because he has seen some being driven badly he says thats who they are aimed at. I'm really sure BMW were designing the Mini and thought "Who do we want to drive our cars? I know bad drivers" There are bad drivers in every model of car that will drive it like a idiot. I just don't like generalisation.

I totally understand and as I always say... if we were all the same we would live very boring lives. We all like and dislike different things.

I think that Dave may have had a few bad experiences that has sculpted his judgment and possibly branded the car in his view.

I would like to add a comment to that. I have seen quite a few Mini Cooper drivers who are young drive like idiots... this is simply because they are getting more affordable to the younger generation. It is rare to see a Cooper S being driven stupidly... To add another angle... i've seen and been involved with quite a few Fiesta and Focus drivers that were simply being reckless. It works both ways really.

I must add though I did encounter the Mini Cooper S owners club convoy past me in the center of Birmingham about 2 weeks ago and I was 1/2 in the middle of a main road and just because the last one got stuck down the road he was trying to catch up and aimed at me and then drove like a complete idiot to make sure i didn't fully pull out, even swerving into the left hand road just to get around me. I can tell you now I went after him and give him plenty of V's, fingers and flashing lights. I didn't see his issue as I was in my and it's not as if I trashed their little convoy and even worse than that they pulled off 200yrs down the road to meet more cars at the petrol station. Idiot.

All I meant was that the average Mini driver doesn't buy the car for it's handling or power. They're just people who want a cool car. Nothing to do with the age of the drivers at all.

Apologies to anyone that took offence.

oh wheel spacers cool... let me know how they go and if you got 10mm or 12.5mm because I want some but I want them to bolt on with no cutting!

go for the 12.5mm spacers

Dal

i put one of the spacers on this afternoon... it was pretty easy, just had to drill out the pot rivet that was in the way holding the guard on but not that's just held in place as its squashed between the hole lot now and the ABS sensor fits in without modification as far as i can see although i didnt get time to fit it back as the light was fading fast, i'll do that tomorrow when the springs are out!

looks much better i havnt taken it for a spin as yet as i only put one on i will take a few pics of my very busy day im going to have tomorrow
