Hrrm. Why?

Because you can get a brand new one for 13k, it can be tuned easily up to 210bhp and is basically a passat which I know to be incredibly good cars. For ST170 money I know which I'd rather have. Ford have not currently got a car for sale that I want, so I am looking elsewhere.

Anyway, it's only a test drive, I might not like it. I am adding a 4th car to the list though, I want to try and get a loan WRX to try for a day.

Well folks... I was that disappointed by the Fiesta ST that I have gone and bought a Seat Ibiza FR to see me on until something else takes my fancy in mid 2006.

Whether that be the Fiesta RS or something else I dunno....but this will do for now. The first time I have strayed away from Ford in 13 years.

I must admit I don't get that, how can you be that dissapointed about a car you haven't driven?

Was just coming in to post the same. Is it that the car didn't have the visual impact you were expecting?

One thing is for sure, when I see all the ST's cruising around I'm going to be VERY jealous. But I couldn't really go from a Focus RS to a Fiesta ST. I'm waiting for the Fiesta RS like Scott.

It visually did not grab me.....not in the slightest. Makes no odds whether I have driven it or not....I just did not like the look of it one bit. Each to their own and all that...as they say.

2006 is not that far away.... and the RS did visually grab my attention Can most certainly see that baby on my drive, as long as I like the feel of it of course after the test drive.

I remember taking the XR2i out for a test drive many years ago. The look of it had won me but after the test drive I passed on it. So stuck with my beloved XR2 for many more years after that. The no sale was due to there being no leg room for my left leg And when you have a 32" inside leg there needs to be somewhere for it to go after changing gear.

I couldn't agree more about the Ford stand. A lot of whizz bang hides the fact that there is little in the way of brand new product. Pity about the ST being out of reach :-( I think that they only have the one so, don't want it messed up by the great unwashed. UK is probably the largest European market for the ST so, you would have thought they would have made it more easy to see inside. Your pics of the ST were gr8. Much better than mine! Highlights for me were the Ford GT and the Porsche stand - the only premium brand where I didn't feel that they were means testing me before letting me on. Carrera GT is Awesome and Turbo S was beautiful both inside and out.

I drove the Seat Ibiza FR last month and was mightily impressed. Nice car, good power and torque, well spec’d up and, if you believe Auto Express, at least a grand cheaper than the ST. A tempting proposition if ever I heard one.
