The air has to be cooler steve doing it this way, at least your getting cold air from the original place on the front panel, i used the original L bend which was fastned to the original cold air pipe, the filter came with restrictors so just used the best fitting, total cost about £13.

Use the pipe you already have on it and twist it to the right, there is a gap on the right beside battery. Its a tight fit but I had a fiesta 1.25 and I used the pipe which u ave on and did this, its a tight fit but works well once on
