Lol, sounds like a good idea ChrisSussex. I'd be up for that!

Does anybody know of the 2006 ST, apparently totally different inside, but exactly the same on the outside? Is it worth waiting for? Anybody have any links or information on it?

I went back to my local dealership last night for another look, and i cant get the bloody car out of my head! Test drive is next. I will keep you guys posted with how the drive goes. Do dealerships usually lend you the car for a day, so you can do whatever you want with it (within reason of course)? I'm worried about not using the cars full potential with a sales man in the car with me!

Insurance would be the next thing to look at. I have a few quotes already. Anybody know of any ST friendly brokers? Anybody here who is 21 and owns an ST?

Thanks guys!

Tyson.

Hi Tyson,

I'm 20 ( I was 19 when I got it in March) and my insurance from elephant.co.uk is £830 ( 2 years NCB + pass plus), I don't think thats too bad, its cheaper than what I used to pay for a Fiat Punto 1.2!

The facelifted fiesta has slighty different headlights that don't look much different but to my knowledge nobodys seen the new interior, but rumour has it that its a bit better. I think it really depends how log your willing to wait, I could barely hang on for the new 05 plate!

Chris

You think the dealerships treat their demo cars with kid gloves???? *LOL* On my test drive he took me to a 50mph road, we swapped seats & after pulling away and feeling comfy, I booted it *lol* Still makes me smile when I do that now I had 2 test drives from 2 different dealerships (the first one back on 4th or 5th January, the ST had only *just* got off the trailer!) and it was a normal 10-20 minute drive. I'm not sure I've heard of dealerships giving the ST for a day because they are so popular.

Thanks for that ChrisST, much appreciated. If anyone else could shed some more light on the face lift 06 plate ST would be a great help.

Chris, 20 and owning a 2.0L 150bhp Sport Hatch car is good going! Well done mate! I get my 3 years NCB in december so if i waited that long, then i guess i should wait for the face lift, but will just have to see how the test drive goes! May end up signing there an then.

Chris you got any pic's you can mail through to me, i think i saw some in the forecourt but they weren't very big? I just want to get a feel for the performance blue colour. Thanks.

Tyson.

Can I get in free as well cos I'm a member of Club Chris??

Much as I enjoyed visiting birdland on Monday (seeing the penguins, Scott getting those parrots to attack each other) your birdland sounds much better lol.

No problem! Yeah I'm lucky to have it, all my mates are skint at uni so I'm just rubbing it in at the moment!

Heres a link to some more pics of my car taken when I first got it, are these ok?:

Righty-o then: If you wanna TD the car on your own and for a decent amount of time you can book an extended test drive via the TalkBack Club on the Ford UK website BUT... its orientated around company car drivers, so technically you need to be considering getting a company car - if you had a company who wouldnt object to you putting the co. name on the booking form then you'd get away with it...... then you TD the car and fill in a survey at the end of it. I did it with the Focie and I've had no pressure sales since... - depends how daring you feel..

ChrisCumbria, yep, free entrance to all Club members inc Nicky as Honourary member!

TISSUES:

Right. I know you don't want me to explain but..... since someone DID ask lol...

Its not hard really (well!), if you're gonna be in Bird Land with all those scantiliy clad ladies, I should imagine that you might need something to clean up with. Hence the tissues.

Im absolutely bloody disgusting aren't I. I'll get my coat!

Well if someone asks, then it would have been rude not to explain.

Its lovely that mate, i bet you're really chuffed with it! I would be!

Those 17's really suit the ST, Ford have done well there. Looks like you have the interior styling too, nice!

Still unsure on what colour to get, argh! Such a difficult decision! I think i need to see them all in the flesh, because as you say in your post, photo's dont give a true reflection of the colour, but its unlikely that any garage has all the colours lined up for viewing, lol!

Tyson, the larger dealerships will possibly have a selection of a few of the colours (not all I expect) 'down the yard' behind the dealership, cos Ford UK make the dealers buy a few, then they sit down there until bought..
Where UK r u again?
