Having seen my neighbours Golf GTi nearly nabbed at 3.30am this morning and waited half an hour for the cops to turn up despite calls saying 'there's a man stealing a car RIGHT NOW!' I'm thinking the RS might need to have a tracker on it. BTW, car thief legged it when the alarm went off and I wasn't about to go and tackle him. I'm not that brave....or stupid.

Anyone got experience of trackers?

I personally wouldn't bother fitting one as they are not cheap and totally fallible if the car is being attacked by professionals.

I do however know of a success story from 2 years ago when a mates Lotus Carlton got stolen. He saw it go, reported it and it was recovered 2 miles later in traffic with the crim inside. Steve walked up the road to recover his car and the tea leaf was sat in the back seat of the cop car.

Steve flicked him the bird and then got in his car and drove off.

Cars these days are fairly difficult to steal... I'm be more concerned about someone nicking the keys - so I'm extra careful with where they are kept!
