I had a Hyundai Accent my parents paid £600. It was white and bleep.
The clutch was awful in it, where sometimes it wouldnt depress so i could stall with the clutch down if that makes any sense.

I was the most nervous learner ever, and after passing my test on the 4th try i wouldnt go out in the car on my own for weeks.
Was lucky as the clutch.. messed up on a huge round-a-bout and i was in bits not knowing what to do.
Some garage fobbed us off with stuff and eventually got rid of it part exchange for my mums new Peugeot 107.

At first i thought it was a good little car, and my driving instructor asked if it was nippy, i said yeah, but soon realised after 20mph the car was a joke, taking 14 seconds to 60!
It was excellent on fuel though, thats the only thing i miss about it. The boot was an engineering disaster to.

I count my Fiesta as my first car because i paid for it myself.
Its pretty impressive to buy it brand new at 20.
I still think hmm why didnt i get the Subaru for £3000 more when i get overtaken by faster cars, but my Fiesta looks better than most Subaru.

My XR2 sounds like steves, not my first car as that was a mk2 escort 1.3L, then moved onto a mk2 Droopsnoot RS2000, then a few capri's had a lovely 2.0S but got pinched from work, then tried a vauxhall or two, cavalier sri and mk1 astra GTE, then the xr2 you see here, it didnt look like this when i got it though, had the kit painted some rs seven spokes, lowered the suspension, autosprint big valve head, piper 285 cam, ashley four branch system, rolling roaded at about 125bhp not bad for the day. Stuck with fords ever since.

My RS turbo 185 bhp, but liked gearboxes to much.

Cabby was my summer car.

My RS2000 4X4 i miss this one, but parts were hard to find so i gave it to my dad, who had it a couple of years.

My 2 wheel drive RS2000, had this one for over seven years, its part of the family, still only has 64,000 miles on the clock.

Citroen Saxo 1.1i

I don't think we need the pics

I drove it for 5 years and it served me well when I was a student (cheap) I took everything out of it to make it less dull to drive, it had 15" alloys and weighed very little but the cornering was abysmal.

Nothing fancy as I was 17 when I passed.
I had a Mk3 Ford Fiesta 1.3 Elisse (if that's how you spell it, Elisse?)
Good little rugged car. Leaked power steering fuild thought and needed a new rack. Then needed a full exhaust system so it had to go...
Got 110mph out of it somehow going down hill LOL!
and also it could go from one end of the country to the other without over heating so that was very helpful for travelling!
Good times...

My first car was an Aston Martin V8.... Sorry just dreaming!

Actually it was a 99 T-reg Fiesta LX in burgundy with air con etc but it was only a 1.8D old style diesel without a turbo! 0-60 17 seconds, top speed 90mph!
Hear the music and feel the speed!
Before the ST I had a W-reg 1.6 focus lx, 05 reg 1.6 focus zetec which I wrote off and an 03 reg 1.8 tdci focus ghia
Big on Fords as you have gathered

Kev, come on we all want to hear about yours, especailly the free upgrades from your garage LOL

Yes, it's funny now... But at the time..Not!

I passed my test when i was 17 and my Dad bought me a 1975 Austin Maxi 1750L.(single SU Carb and plastic seats). Bearing in mind that this was 1984.

Well, my Dad had a Maxi 1750HL, cloth seats and with Twin SU Carbs at the time. It had just failed the MOT on minor issues, so he decided to put his car into the garage for a short time as he had just bought an Austin Princess with full MOT to get him by for a year until he could get his Maxi sorted for the MOT.

Right, after about three months, my drivers seat recline went a complete knacker so what more to do for a quick repair;(unknown to my Dad) i swapped the whole interior from his Maxi into mine...i just chucked my front and rear seats into his car without securing them, thinking i've got aaaages to get them sorted.

Worried, after another couple of months i asked my Dad what he was going to do with his Maxi, "Don't know" was his reply.

Well, that was it, Twin Carbs along with the twin downpipe came off next in replacement for a single carb and just placed in the drivers footwell.

Then i had a prob with the Timeing chain and decided to strip nearly half of his engine for bits, again, without replacing ANYTHING thinking that he would scrap it anyway... How wrong was i !!

I got home from work one day to be told from my Mom that my Dad had gone into the garage to start to work on his car to get it through the MOT and sell it, only to find half an engine, the other half was inside the car on knackered seats!!

I promptly ran out of the house to a BELLOWING ROAR from my Dad......KEVVVVVVINN!!!

Kevin, that's brilliant. I've no idea how you thought you'd manage to get away with all that.
