Some scum have stolen my performance blue spoiler and left a massive dint on the top rear wing They want fecking kneecapping the little shits! I am unsure if it was stolen today at work or last night because I only noticed it at lunch time today! Police won't come out unless I find a tool, weapon, blood or footprint! It wouldnt have been as bad if they didnt cause a massive dint removing it, just no respect at all... If you are offered a Performance blue spoiler or know someone selling one in Wakefield, Leeds or surrounding areas please let me know and I'll contact the police. Thank you

makes it worse when the police won't help, so criminal damage and theft is not against the law anymore ? Demand they come for fingerprints and a check on local CCTV businesses/houses and if not say your making a written complaint to the Chief Constable.

Yup. Ours (a black one) went just a few months after we bought the car. And the force they used in order to crack it off had bent the top of the tailgate and put a dent in each side of the roof. I got the damage sorted but decided against having a new spoiler as the dirty little chavs would only have nicked it again. On the plus side, without the spoiler our car often gets mistaken for a standard model, and I've now lost count of the pimped-up Corsas I've left in the gutter!

SI ST - I think Evans Halshaw's body shop wanted around £600 for the whole repair & fit spoiler job, but if I remember correctly it was £200 to £300 for just the damage repair. I might fit a smaller one, as the car looks a bit crappy without something on the back!
Oh Stu - we had all four wheel caps nicked a few months later. Bl**dy £50 up the spout.....

Damn, I hope its not that much I've just got one big tint so hopefully they won't charge so much. If my caps go too, they are staying off. I think the Police should be watching ebay a lot closely. Theres one guy on there that has sold 12 center caps off his 58 plate fiesta ST so far.

No, just the standard rubbish one. Do you think its worthwhile getting one? I'm not sure people take any notice to them these days.
I do get the feeling some of them are stolen expecially the one that says it wasn't fit properly, sounds like it was snapped off and new scew holes glued in. I'm not going to buy anything that sounds suspicious like that because thats what fuels the problem!

should/could the Forum write to Chief of Police and ask what is being done about EBay, there isn't a day that goes by on here or t'other one that somebody suffers a theft. If both Forums got together and wrote maybe and just a maybe the police might start doing something for us. Security mark all your bits and place stickers that say so, if you buy anything, check it for markings including ultra violet and return it to it's rightful owner, there are some good Etching kits around now and you can visibly mark your bits with custom lettering as part of the price, some come with stickers some of which can not be removed without a lot of work and hassle.

Yeah could be worth a try, anythings better than nothing! I plan to engrave the next spoiler. They'll probably just sand it off or fill it though.
Looks like the top of the bootlids damaged aswell because of the force the screws must have been pulling at it

yes defo mate. I got so pissed off with people messing with my car, had my centre caps, tyre valve caps, badges, front bumper and my number plates stolen. Got a clifford 650 with proxy sensors. Set the proximity to the max and if anyone comes with 3 feet of my car the warning goes off. Loud enough to wake anyone up!!!! and i dont care if my neighbours get annoyed with the alarm as the repairs dont come out of their pockets!!!
so far ive had no issues and i live in a very high crime area!
Sorry to hear all the s**t things that's happened to you. Sounds a good idea, how much that would set me back? I gave up with the fancy valve caps after about 2 thefts, now just standard black plastic. I still have my official Ford side stripes in their box because I just know its going to attract the idiots again.

Can the forum arrange some discount with a security marking kit company, if every ST owner marked there cars then less chance of theft and more chance of tracebility/police action, I realise it won't stop it all but makes it more of a risk whereas now it is no risk to nick whatever they want. Plenty of kits on the market.

What about the tyre guy?
What other security methods can I use apart from the Clifford 650 mentioned above?
Heres some pics of my not so good :
On a side note, them boot lock covers look quite good. Made from aluminium bar by Blacks engineering.

keep at um, the police should be obtaining the details from Ebay and make random visits to these sellers, especially when a theft has been reported of a similar item to that on Ebay. If you had your house burgled and found your telly for sale in local shop, then the police would come down, but for some reason they just can't be bothered with Ebay and now it's got well out of hand.
What I can say, is if you have parts stolen, do not post on any websites about it, even such as "look out for.....", just bid for it, report it to Ebay and police and then they may help you.

The only trouble with bonding things on is more damage when they cant get them off, or if you have a bump the bodyshop will have hassle removing parts.

no, the clfford takes over everything the Ford fob does, I think the Ford Fob gets disabled and so do the factory fitted internal sensors as the clifford ones would interfere, am not 100%. The clifford is Cat one but that doesn't matter as the cars own immobiliser is Cat 1 not the alarm.

We'll my first quote has come back as £646 with spoiler or £494.50 without. I might have to go through insurance Looks like my premium will be going up next year. Are there any direct replacement alarms that work with the Ford key system and has perimeter sensors? Suppose I'll have to upgrade the alarm as soon as I can afford to.

do you have vandalism cover on your insurance? i had to go through the insurance on mine also, its a pain and my premium will most prob go up too.
i think there is a viper alarm that also has proximity settings.
I got mine from precision alarms via recommendation from members on here. check them out on the web, they have lots of alarms you can look at.
