Oh yeah, I didn't notice that at first, only when I later got home.

Its a right pain but I'm not too bothered getting that repaired/replaced just yet, I've just about kerbed all the others so it fits in quite well now!

The alloys are always going suffer I think. It doesn't matter how careful you are, with such low profile tyres even a bg pothole is enough to scrape them a bit. I've got a small scuff on my near side rear and I'm positive I've never touched a kerb with it!

Hope your bodywork isn't too expensve to sort. A frind of mine has his own bodyshop but Nottinghamshire's a bit far for you!!

I'm sure you know Parksey but be mindful of the insurance on the courtesy car. I went to get one from my local ford garage once and the excess, even on a Ka, was £2,500 which I would have to pay even if it wasn't my fault. I think they let me put it on my own insurance in the end as I point blank refused to take theirs.

I'm hoping I only need the car for a day whilst its in and they quote for the work, so touch wood I won't come to any harm in the diesel Fusion or whatever load of crap they'll give me!

I've had a couple of people comment that it may be quite expensive because of where it is. I'll see what Ford say, if they want hundreds of pounds then I'll just claim it on my insurance and pay the excess instead. I've got protected no-claims so in theory I shouldn't lose out.

Er kind of

I was driving down a narrow country lane yesterday afternoon out in the sticks when I came across a tractor coming the opposite way. I pulled over onto the long grass verge slowly to let it pass. Then i hear this rubbing noise then a sort of 'snap'. Once the tractors past I get out and low and behold theres a big rock hidden in the grass, its the only one along the whole bloody lane!

It pushed back the rubber wind deflector underneath the front bumper and caused two little plastic clips that support the bumper to snap off! They're not essencial, they just stop the bumper from flexing as much when you push on it. Annoying but I should be able to glue them back on later, i've got pics at home i'll post later.

Chris

Harsh. At least it sounds like it didn't do too much damage and you can fix it yourself though. Thats the only problem with mine, there's no way I could DIY it.

Yeah thats right it shouldn't cost me anything, I hope yours isn't too much!

Theres no way I'm changing the whole bumper to fix it, you just wouldn't know there was a problem if you didn't look for it. Its a bit annoying though 'cause I haven't even scraped an alloy yet (touch wood) and this was just one of those things I didn't see coming.

Sorry to hear that chris, it sounds like you've been really unlucky there. At least its only something really minor you can sort out yourself.

not dinged, not scraped wheels but I notice on Dirkexke he has different wheels are they standard Belgian wheels I think the other 3 probably look quite nice
theses UK ones are a pain to keep clean fewer spokes the better I think

Finally got my car back yesterday after having a) the power steering pump replaced and b) the dent fixed. The power steering pump was all under warranty which was good, thanks heavens I now don't get that annoying whining/groaning noise when negotiating car parks and stuff. They did need a week whilst the part came in though, so I was left driving a succession of pov-spec Fiestas as courtesy cars. God how I missed my ST!

As for the dent, I also got it back from the bodyshop yesterday and thats now good as new although I'm £323.13 lighter for it... They'd did a bloomin' good job though and there's no way you'd ever know that it'd had a little scrape. It'll certainly teach me to be more careful in future though, that's for sure!
